He was cute, rich, and six years older than me. All good reasons to steer clear. But I just couldn’t help myself.
I think I fell in love with Clint Carmichael the first time I noticed him when I was twelve and he was a high school senior. Then, it seemed impossible. Now, not so much. I just had to get him to notice me, then somehow convince my father that it was true love. Simple.
It wasn’t simple. The first part wasn’t so hard because, for some amazing reason, Clint wanted me, too.
The second was a battle.
My father was a firm believer in knowing your place in the world and staying there. The financially comfortable Murphy’s weren’t anywhere close to the wealthy Carmichaels. And no daughter of his was going to get involved with some young buck from the Texas Ten.
But Clint and I were determined to stay together, no matter what obstacles my family put in our way. The road to our happily ever after was going to be a rough one. But true love conquers all. Isn’t that what they say? I sure hope that’s true.
Faith’s Journal is a prequel to the four Carmichael Books. It’s the love story that shaped the lives of Deacon, Tobias, Abigale, and Tanner. It just might prove the ability to find your fireworks person is hereditary.

The most beautiful love story
