Acerca de esta escucha

A smart, funny, and refreshingly candid memoir from Mark Hoppus, the vocalist, bassist, and founding member of pop-punk band blink-182. Narrated in his own voice, the audiobook offers an intimate and immersive experience that fans won’t want to miss.

This is the story of an angst-filled kid from the desert, navigating the chaos of his parents' bitter divorce and searching for his place in the world. Each move across the country was a chance to reinvent himself, switching identities from dork to goth to skate punk, and eventually meeting his best friend who just so happens to be his musical soulmate.

With sharp humor and raw honesty, Fahrenheit-182 takes listeners through Mark's formative years as a latchkey kid in the 1980s, hooked on punk rock, skateboards, and MTV. Along the way, Mark reflects on his lifelong battle with anxiety, his celebrated career with blink-182, and his public fight with cancer, in a voice that’s both relatable and unmistakably his own.

Threaded with heartfelt grit, Fahrenheit-182 is more than just a memoir for blink-182 fans. It’s a funny, smart, and deeply human story for anyone who’s struggled, reinvented themselves, wanted to quit but kept going.

Like most people my age, I grew up on blink-182. I saw them on my 19th birthday and it's still one of my favorite concerts. The next few times I saw them live, the experience didn't live up to my memory. This book explains what was happening within the band. It also explains why I (and most fans) didn't like their album "Neighborhoods". I've said their album "California" was their best since "Enema of the State" and Mark comments how the two were similar in the production process.

I fully expected to laugh my ass off but I was not prepared to cry. I was listening to this while at work and when Mark talks about what he was going through post-Covid, it caught me off guard and I started tearing up. I do wish Mark made this longer so he could talk about their new album "One More Time..." and the writing process. I've often wondered how many times it took them to play their title track "One More Time" before they weren't crying. I still cry listening to that song.

I laughed, I cried, and things I was curious about were explained.

I very much enjoyed this memoir. Listening to Mark was pure joy. Even if you're not a fan of bLink-182 (you're weird-fk u) you will enjoy this read/listen. It's fun, sad, devastating, a little gross, devastating, emotional and enlightening (yes, I know I wrote devastating twice, ahole.)
Mark...I send you an abundance of love and prayers for continued perfect health. You made me cry, you're a dck. I 💙 you

It’s a awesome book! Love hearing about the life of one of the main bands I listen when I was young. Even better when it’s actually the person how was talk made it the best part!

Great!

The immersive narrative was a ‘roller coaster, favorite ride.’ I laughed and I cried. I was also teleported back to my childhood of being a hoodlum. I can’t recommend Mark’s memoir enough!

The immersive narrative!

Fahrenheit 182 is one of the most enjoyable music memoirs I’ve listened to. Mark keeps it real the entire time. He talks openly about Blink breaking up twice, his fight with cancer, and how Tom could be pretty shitty at times. He also covers Travis’ plane crash and other bands like pennywise and the douches at Green Day. Nothing feels sugar-coated. The stories are cool, the emotion is real, and the audiobook is especially great since Mark reads it himself. It feels like you’re hearing it straight from a friend. If I had one complaint I wish it was longer, I wasn’t ready for it to end

Raw, Funny, and Completely Honest

I loved everything about this book. The storytelling, the humor, the brutal honesty. As a longtime fan of Mark and Blink182 it was wild to hear his full story, his personal battles, as well as the behind the scenes story of the band, the inner drama, and the eventual triumphant reconciliation. 10/10, no notes, highly recommend to everyone!!

An incredible story!
