My Nightmare

Rivers of blood, Fae vs. human, and all-you-can-eat betrayal. *Shudders. But also yasssss!! So. many. emotions. I usually don’t like time-jumps, but its clearly because Sarah Wilson didn’t write those. I’m 100% sure she could write an actual neverending story and you would be on the edge of your seat for life. The romance in this series is a one-sided slow burn….I think? Haha Honestly, my favorite part of this book was listening to Scouvrel wax poetic darkness to Allie and still being unsure of his end game. So much action happens here and I’d say this is definitely one of her darkest series imo, giving me some Titus Andronicus vibes, and I’m loving the change-up. Caitlin Kelly, as always, does an amazing job!! Love her Audio narrations ❤️ And now…. I gotta keep reading cause the cliff hanger 🔥🤌😍

The story stays fresh

This was another great installment of the series! Despite being the third book, the story flows so beautifully and kept me very engaged. I love Allie and Scavarel, and the depth the author was able to create for them. Such a creative world and plot,

Loved it!!

The third installment of Tangled Fae does not disappoint!! The author has created a wonderful world for the reader/listener to get lost into. The games, the intrigue, survival, Fae, and humans. So much has happened while Allie was in the Fae world and she comes to a much different world. So much has changed and she’s not sure who she can trust. We do see some of Scouvrel but not enough of that tricky little Fae. I don’t think I can ever get enough of him. ❤️ I’m not sure why but he has truly captured my heart and I love him!
Allie’s character has truly evolved in this book. Allie works tirelessly trying to think of ways to set a trap for the incoming Fae army and her sister. Will she be able to set the trap or will she herself be trapped? Pick up this fast paced, adrenaline pumping book to find! I highly recommend this book and audio. The narrator does a phenomenal job!!

Fast paced

Another cliffhanger, but the series is complete. This series so so face-paced and quick, I'm surprised to find these characters pretty fleshed out. I'm glad a potential relationship that was somewhat hinted as a possibility in the first book never happened. Though the time jump in this series is not my favorite. It almost feels like the author struggled to keep track of the time that passed and fixed that by having major time jumps throughout the books. Even with that, this series is super easy to get into. The writing style is relatively clean and though there are some unintentional repetition moments, those things almost never pulled me from the story enough to keep it from being a positive reading experience.

Excellent Story & Narration

First things first: you can't go wrong with Caitlin Kelly for a narrator. Her work is always fabulous, and this is no exception. If you all you're worried about is whether or not it's read well, look no further! This is well work your audible credit for the month.

Now, the best part: this story is EVERYTHING. There are only two things I didn't like... 1) I need more Scouvrel. I just do. There is no such thing as enough of him, and while Allie is busy trying to save everyone, and in turn discovering new things about the charming Knave, he is largely absent while serving the Balance. I'm okay with this mostly because there is still a lot of character development going on for him, even though he's not as present with our darling Nightmare. 2) It ends. I didn't want it to end. I wasn't ready for it to end, and yet here we are. Twiddling my thumbs until the next book is ready. *sigh*

Everything else? Perfect. We get new characters that you are going to love to hate *cough* Sir Eckelmeier *cough*. Allie is on the move nonstop, and she's trying to do everything on her own. This is definitely important for her development as a character. She has to come to terms with her "marriage", as well as the new state of being for Skundton. She is determined to save everyone she can, and she gets faced with the very real possibility that she will utterly fail at it.

I LOVE this series, it's The Cruel Prince but with nonstop action and fabulous wit that Cardan and Jude aren't really prone to in general. If you tried that series and found it dry, try this one instead. It has the same themes of cunning, betrayal, and ambition, but with a flare of flamboyance that really makes it special. Highly, highly recommend!
