Publisher's summary

This story proves that no matter how off-course our lives go, we can still find our way back to God…and he’ll love and forgive us.

Many people feel thrown away by friends, loved ones, those they once cared about, and sometimes, even by God. Sometimes the trajectory of our lives lead us away from the Lord, his guidance, and his word. And sometimes, getting back on track and rediscovering his love feels like an impossible task.

Author Michael L. Chestnut bares his life’s story in this deeply moving, poignant tale of how one such child of God lost his way - and found his way back into God’s grace.

If you’ve ever felt lost, off-course, cast aside, or thrown away, then this audiobook is a must-listen for you. It’s time to rediscover God’s love for all of us, even when we make mistakes. He loves all his children, even those who choose to stray. Life isn’t perfect and neither are you. God loves you anyway and this story of one man’s journey will prove it.

Mind-blowing, important, full of heart

I absolutely loved this book. It’s hard to briefly describe the impact of the story and the skillful, heartwarming way that it is presented. The narration is superb! It’s the perfect voice and temperament for this book.
Although the story is very dark and disturbing, it is never graphic or disgusting. There’s a loving hopeful tone throughout it.
It’s so important that anybody seeking to follow God and seeking to get out of spiritual captivity learns the things that are presented in this book. It shows Michael’s progression from misunderstanding the gospel and having terribly negative beliefs about himself and about God, and finding God’s miraculous interventions and new people at just the right times who care about him and help him back into God’s light.
This book illustrates the harms of sexual abuse, of emotional abuse, of teaching false concepts about God, and the devastating effects they can have in the life of one of God’s children. I never imagined that anyone could feel so low and in the dark and hopeless as Michael did in this story. And it lasted a long time!
But equally, the thread of hope and effort on his part to look to God and turn away from the darkness in his life, enabled him to live a happier, joyful life.
I just participated in a podcast interview with Michael today, in fact. I just met him last week! I feel God’s spirit so strongly as a result of this listening experience and getting to know him and learning the things that I learned in this book. May God bless you on your journey!
