A very useful book.

A very useful book. I especially like the month to month chapters of what to expect in terms of development, sleep, feeding, etc. The book includes pictures of helpful positioning and other graphics that are essential to clarify the text. If I could change something, I would want a more extensive chapter on pumping and children with special needs.

5 stars from a new parent to be

This is a very well written book that has a lot of useful information to help new parents. I am expecting my first baby in July this year and think that this is a must-have for any new parent out there - definitely one I'd recommend - 5 stars from me

Easy access to answers to tough questions

I love the way this book is set up. Because it does not have to be read from start to finish I am not overwhelmed. This is especially nice, as being a new mom is already overwhelming. I just flip to a seemingly applicable section and quickly find answers to my worried mom questions.

Good reference

Gives you a great glimpse into each month of your child's first year. I guess you could just find the info online, but it's nice to have the book in hand, with a whole chapter dedicated to the upcoming month. One thing I didn't like was that the chapters are labeled slightly confusingly... when they say the third month, for example, they mean 2-3 months old, but that's easy to get over.

I would recommend listening

I would recommend reading this over just about any other pregnancy/first baby book. In fact this is the only one I read all the way through. Dr. Leman does a good job laying out what a typical first born tends to be like and how you can parent specifically to those unique characteristics.

A must have

I definitely recommend this to all moms before they begin reading any other parenting book. It's a great introduction to anything else you might read. For me, reading the book put my mind more at ease and relieved quite a bit of anxiety I had had about motherhood.
