Exegetical Fallacies

This was interesting to me as a layperson because it discusses where there is breakdown in logic and arguments by theologians. I am familiar with John Brown of Edinburgh's writings that had a grammar background to his interpretation of Scripture. Where there isn't the attention to grammar and logic, the errors are many. I am no grammarian and although I follow the logic of theologians, I will still miss these errors unless they are pointed out to me. Recognizing that, I still depend on the Reformation teachings and the Spirit giving discernment for good and bad teaching. Nevertheless, this was worth the time to listen to the audiobook.

With this understanding you will be able to grasp hermeneutical pitfalls caused by popular sayings that “preaches good” but in reality is not accurate according to the text, context or gramatical rules.
