Cannot add to the description of this book without it being a spoiler. I think this would have been a much better story if unabridged. I dislike abridged books because someone else has decided what's important. Nevertheless I enjoyed the story more than most I have downloaded from audible and find that I could finish it without it's losing my attention like most modern fiction. Being an Alexandre Dumas fan, I see that this book is the retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo. The twists and turns are a little different and the story is more modern but revenge stories are great in my opinion. The writer has a nice cadence and rhythm in delivering lines and scenes and does a solid job. This book is not super deep, like Dumas's works, but it is a decent read. Narration decent too.

Pretty Good Book

Does this guy still write? I've read many of his books. I read this one years ago. This audio version is excellent.

The book is typical of the genre, except that the plot appears to have been taken from the classic The Count of Monte Cristo. Ultimately, none of the characters, including the narrator-protagonist, are interesting or likable.
