Publisher's summary

In Evidence Considered: A Response to Evidence for God, Glenton Jelbert seeks to explore and test the arguments advanced by apologists and ultimately show why none of them persuade him. As a former Christian, Jelbert handles the topic with sensitivity.

He examines the evidence for God, by responding to a series of 50 essays by Christian apologists. These essays were written by 37 different authors and collected together by William Dembski and Michael Licona in Evidence for God: 50 Arguments for Faith from the Bible, History, Philosophy and Science. Jelbert considers each of these arguments and discusses why they are not convincing to him and how, in many cases, a closer examination of them reveals evidence the other way.

If you are a rational believer who feels that your arguments are dismissed, ignored, or ridiculed, Jelbert’s collection of essays will engage with you respectfully, truthfully, and incisively. The book will also be of interest to Christians who are looking to understand the atheist/agnostic position and refine their arguments and their reasons for belief without being attacked or belittled. Jelbert takes the arguments seriously and engages with them robustly.

A Pleasant Surprise!

To my great surprise, this is one of the best books to address common Christian arguments that I have ever read!

The surprise was due to the fact that I had never heard of this author, and that the quality of his refutations were of such a high order that anyone would be hard-pressed to find his superior in a national best seller.

I'm so glad that I stumbled across this book so unexpectedly, because it brought me so much enjoyment as I listened to its contents.

This book is clear and concise, and it's written in plain language. It is truth-seeking in that it considers the arguments presented in a fair-minded and thoughtful manner.

The author does not settle for merely winning arguments ostensibly. Rather, he fully engages respectfully with each of the apologists' main theses, underlying assumptions, and hidden premises, and he explains in careful detail precisely what goes awry with the logic and reasoning behind the presented arguments in a manner that is difficult to refute.

In many ways, this author has written the book I have always wanted to, although he did an infinitely greater job of it than I ever could! I sincerely hope that Mr. Jelbert continues to write on these subjects in the near future!

The topics covered here are such that literally anyone can benefit from these discussions, and the author even managed to pick the perfect narrator for his contribution to the world of counter-apologetics!

This book deserves to be widely known and read. If you enjoyed this book, please help spread the word!
