Publisher's summary

“Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead.” (Benjamin Franklin)

Emma Gray is a young attorney with beauty she’s unaware of and grit that’s easily overlooked. But all she really wants is the ordinary life she didn’t have as a child. On a rainy night in Boston, she walks into a pub to meet a group of colleagues. Conversations and cocktails flow, but something more sinister is at play. Not everyone will survive the night.

The next morning she awakens covered in bruises and scrapes, yet all her memories after leaving the bar have gone dark. The revelations to follow will change her life in ways she never saw coming.

In this gripping thriller, Emma must decide who she can trust, which clues to follow, and how far she’s willing to go to discover the truth.

An incredibly gripping and thrilling read

Intelligently written, and wonderfully narrated. A really great read that I found myself struggling to put down. Looking forward to seeing more from this talented author.

Interesting suspenseful twists

Believable characters and interesting plot twists. Danny narrates the male character exactly the way i imagined his characters would talk and when you listen carefully on the female characters the narrator hits the mark with how she expresses the individuals. And yes, one character is quite unpleasant.

Disappointing

Over emotional reader and author. Everything was a crisis and similar language for each crisis.

Great suspenseful novel!

Lots of twists and turns and not predictable at all. Loved her first book, think I may just like this one a little more!

Good plot

The plot could have been developed better, leaving out some of the trite/sappy conversations. Difficult to distinguish voices of characters. I rolled my eyes a few times in response to the dramatic reading style.

Way too melodramatic

I found this novel hard going. Might have been easier to read than listen to. The writing is very melodramatic and the narrator makes it worse. Lots of beautiful prose but very little of it relevant to the story. The main character comes across as weak, whining all the time, frequently panicking and needing vodka to steady her nerves. The Boston police are made to seem somewhat inept at least in terms of DNA analysis. The story itself is interesting and that kept me going. Although, the twists at the end seemed somewhat contrived and implausible. Sorry I paid money for this novel.
