Publisher's summary

On an ordinary morning, Maria Colson takes her baby son, Dylan, to the corner store. She turns her back for only a few seconds. When she looks again, she sees his empty stroller as Dylan is being abducted into a waiting van. Maria climbs into the van but is violently thrown to the road, where she is left for dead as the vehicle vanishes without a trace. As Maria fights for her life and her anguished young husband keeps a bedside vigil, the FBI and police across metro Sea-Tac and Washington State search for Dylan.

Seattle Mirror reporter Jason Wade is under pressure to bring in a big story, and the Colson kidnapping could be it. Then Jason and his dad, a private detective haunted by his former life as a cop, discover a grisly murder of a young woman that is somehow connected to the Colsons. Now, in a dark Seattle underground of desperate dreamers and ex-convicts, Jason embarks on an investigation that parallels one led by Homicide Detective Grace Garner. They're both hunting for the one piece of the puzzle that connects the baby's disappearance with a spine-tingling case of revenge. And time is running out.

Every Fear is a fast paced easy listen!

This book is very well written and fast paced. It's every parent's nightmare come true. Woman runs into a store, leaves her infant son with a known teenage girl who gets distracted and the child is kidnapped.
There is an equal balance of police procedural and investigative reporting. A few intense scenes as the mother almost dies from injuries sustained during her attempt to rescue her baby.
There is another story going on simultaneously, that of the kidnappers. There is a really twisted story there but things don't work out the way you think they will.
I really like this author who pulls from his own experiences as a journalist.
Paul Costanzo does an excellent job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you found this review helpful please indicate so.

Quick moving

Rock Mofina has yet to let me down. He writes with with obvious knowledge about the newspaper business and the conflict with police procedures.

Pressure packed and suspenseful

Every fear is the second installment in the Jason Wade series. Its another bang up mystery with a twist, told from the young reporter's perspective.

This time fading circulation adds to the tension as Jason's editor is as big of a jerk as I have ever encountered in fictional. Perhaps it was a bit overdone , but through that on going conflict we learn about the pressures in the newsroom.

This story is a bit of a mind bender. It reveals how easily evidence fueled by suspicions can be so easily misinterpreted. (Something we should all keep in mind in this political climate.)

Even though this series exposes a reporter's world, it cannot do so without being every bit a police procedural.

Loved it!

Another winner by Mofina

Rick Mofina is great. His plots and characters are well developed. I've read most of his books and only been disappointed by one, " Be Mine". Narration is pretty good too. If you like a good police procedural this is a great author.

Lots of sleep

The story was good and I enjoyed; however, the narrator put me to sleep several so I had to backtrack.

I’ll read more than this author.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It took me a few chapters to get used to the narrator’s voice and follow all the characters.
The only part I was disappointed in ( bit of a spoiler alert) was the wife’s lack of internal and crippling physical injuries.
Otherwise great story with some really sad moments
