EXCELLENT BOOK! Inspiring and true to God’s Word!

There’s a reason Smith Wigglesworth is so well-known for having a fruitful life in Christ. He breaks down some pivot personal experiences with Gods Goodness and lessons learned about seeing breakthrough. He also deals with imperfect faith and gives practical advice on how to press into God to receive everything He has available to us in Christ. It is also excellently narrated by William Crockett. Altogether it was a very powerful audiobook. Thank you!

If this doesn’t fire you up, then your wood is wet.

Smith gives testimony after testimony that the Holy Spirit is live, well and working in us, if we only believe. Very compelling truths to the power of the name of Jesus. If we walk with Jesus and do the things he did, then we will get the results he got. Amen. Press On!!!

Christians - Seek & Expect from God

Smith Wigglesworth books are a collection of sermons and interviews. From what I understand, he never undertook the idea of a book, maybe a salvation pamphlet.

The reader does a good job making you feel like Wigglesworth is talking to you. In this collection, the encouragement of understanding the greatness of God in you is stressed with the encouragement to seek and wait on God for direction. Awesome, miraculous stories are presented. Solid encouragement to seek the Almighty and for His power to be present as you walk out your Christian life.

old school faith.

God does a new thing all the time but he will NEVER change his character nor the basic principles of his nature and will. get back to the basics of his principles and the roots of his nature because a lot of what we call the church today is whitewashed rot and bleached bones. the lost are hungry for the power of the real.

Inspired Practical Biblical Message

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This inspired practical biblical message came from a lifetime of successful ministry. Smith Wigglesworth is totally authentic and unpretentious and his books are based on his putting the promises of scripture into practice. This is a challenging confrontation that if we love the father God as Jesus loved him, and make him our total reason for living, then we too can live and minister as Jesus lived, just as he promised. It is that simple... and that costly. I have read many books on healing and keep coming back to his (and Derek Prince's) as the most straightforward, biblical, practical and helpful.

What didn’t you like about William Crockett’s performance?

I did not like to give William Crocket a low grade as I am sure he is a very sincere and nice guy, it comes across in his voice. To me his reading voice does not sound natural, its as if he is trying too hard to make his speaking 'attractive'. I prefer a more natural way of speaking as if a friend is telling me about a great book he has just read. Perhaps WC is trying too hard to add extra emphasis and feeling and in that way it becomes a distraction. The reader should just be a vehicle to convey the message and not try to embellish it. This is all the more ironic in that Smith Wigglesworth was a working class uneducated gruff Yorkshire man who would have spoken in a very plain and blunt way with no attempt to have a 'beautiful' way of speaking. At first I could not listen to WC's voice without feeling some irritation but maybe I got more used to it or was it the grace of God, but eventually I was able to 'tune it out' and just focus on the amazing message. But later in a group bible study I was asked to read the scripture out loud and to my surprise I found myself reading using WC's style of reading, his 'sugary' inflections, and the people looked at me quizzically because it sounded so strange to them... so I coughed as if to clear my throat and continued in my normal speaking voice!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

strange question

Any additional comments?

Essential reading for NT living.

A good introduction to Pentecostalism.

This is a good introduction to Pentecostalism. However, as someone who attends a Pentecostal church regularly, like myself, this book does not break new ground. Of course, at the time of its release much of Wigglesworth's teaching would have been very ground-breaking. But this book may not be very insightful for charismatic Christians who are already mature in their walk with Jesus.

Would have preferred another narrator

While this narrator does a good job - he just has the wrong voice for Wigglesworth.

His voice is too young and smooth - it doesn't fit with the character and nature of the man Smith Wigglesworth and comes across as unnatural which is a great shame because the content is so good.

I highly recommend the book - great teaching on moving in the Spirit but would recommend another narrator.
