Being a kid can really stink. And no one knows this better than Greg Heffley, who finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. In Diary of a Wimpy Kid, author and illustrator Jeff Kinney introduces us to an unlikely hero. As Greg says in his diary: Just don't expect me to be all "Dear Diary" this and "Dear Diary" that. Luckily for us, what Greg Heffley says he won’t do and what he actually does are two very different things.

When a terrible drought struck William Kamkwamba's tiny village in Malawi, his family lost all of the season's crops, leaving them with nothing to eat and nothing to sell. William began to explore science books in his village library, looking for a solution. There, he came up with the idea that would change his family's life forever: he could build a windmill. When Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in 1843, he likely had no idea that the story and its main character, Ebenezer Scrooge, would remain so popular nearly two centuries later. Today, audiences still find themselves entertained by the story of a grumpy, selfish man who becomes a holiday hero after he learns generosity through the help of three spirits in Victorian-era England.

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Excellent!
This book was a very good listen for one that was less than 2 hours long. It was easy for me to follow (paired with a faint familiarity from the movie I watched several decades ago) and was a nice "change of pace" from the longer books I am constantly listening to.

Interesting but...
• the narrator did a fine job. however, there's a "problem" with how the narration is edited: it keeps on pausing after each page. at first, it's bearable, but after a couple of pages in, i couldn't help but feel unnerved.
• some of the details provided conflict with those provided by other sources i've read/listened to regarding the infamous escape. but that's to be expected, i suppose, as all rely on secondhand information mostly.

Easy to listen to
Just enough information to keep it interesting but not too much to overwhelm and confuse the facts

Editing (?) Issues
Good story, not too long, reader very good, EXCEPT every 60 seconds or so, there would be a gap or delay in the readers narrative. Like it was poorly edited, patched together with a stapler - happened over and over in the middle of a sentence. annoying, but otherwise, a good story and enjoyable.

Informative and interesting
The only weird thing is the pauses in narration that so many people mention. But it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t take away from the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it really informative and interesting.

Realistic
I liked the the descriptions of the men's capabilities, background and emotions. I also liked the description of the search for them.

Mechanical
This sounds like AI is reading it. The music at the beginning and end is way too dramatic.
