Interesting mix of history and psychology.

As the author states in his introduction, this is not an authorized biography. Readers are forewarned that his access to sources was limited for that reason. Nonetheless, Lownie presents an engaging story that transcends titillation to raise serious questions about influence peddling, fiscal irresponsibility, and the mystique of royalty.

The Bizarro Couple

How embarrassing to be them.

Also, how embarrassing for the Queen who grew up with a sense of dignity and duty to have Andrew and Charles be such goofs. I know Charles rehabbed his image somewhat, but it’s like this out of control situation that is mental she has to watch in horror. Then to have harry (lower case) make her last days so bad, Shane on them all.

SF sounds ultra insecure, bipolar, zero awareness of her actions, and desperately seeking love but she has none to give.

Overall an amazing informative book

In reality could be probably reduced to less chapters. Some of their behavior was just too repetitive to repeat so many times.

Fantastic

Thoroughly researched, thrillingly told. This isn’t just a tabloidly gossip-fest, but a well constructed and thoughtful study of an unsympathetic but nevertheless tragic figure.

The details of this couple, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, are hard to believe. Spoiled and extravagant lives. Prince Andrew’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein is beyond disgusting and this author brought all receipts to collaborate. Very detailed with dates and times

Too many stats and the author mumbled

Great subject, too many lists of spending habits that could’ve been condensed. More anecdotes would’ve made this a better read. Very gossipy.

Enthralling Mystery

Written in the style of unravelling a great mystery, the author avoids cheesy gossip and elevates this tale of royal misbehavior to documentary-level true crime novel.

IMPORTANT, STUNNING, DEPRESSING

Respect and gratitude to Andrew Lownie for his courage, decency and scholarship. So disappointed, not even the queen put a brake on such inexcusable conduct. The true nobility, those who serve the royal family, reduced to endure hell and indignatinities, conjure horror. William, Catherine, their children and the Middletons seem the only hope for survival of the monarchy. Above all, the royals should serve as role models. Only William and his family seem to be upholding their responsibilities. Meanwhile the British People are abandoned by their government, insulted and put in peril.

Entitlement

I liked how all the foolish spending was highlighted. They both felt entitled but did not deserve it.
