Publisher's Summary

I'm an enforcer, it's what I do.

I was brought to the Boneyard Brotherhood to do one thing, keep everyone in line. Break our code, run afoul of our laws? It's my boot that will be bringing you back in check. If there was a problem, I'm the one who took care of it; by whatever means necessary. My own safety was never a concern. I enjoyed the thrill, the Adrenalin and the rush that I had lost since leaving the Marines. But, all of that changed when I met her.

Dylan, the nurse who patched me up after a mission went a bit afoul, she managed to setup shop in my head. It was something no other woman had done before; make me care about not only her but myself. Suddenly, I minded if I was going to be in danger, shot at or stabbed. I had to change, for her. But, would the Brotherhood let me?

This is a hot, hot, hot standalone MC romance novel. If you want to dive into the world of the Boneyard Brotherhood check out book one, Overhaul, for more!

Slight cliffhanger!

I love veteran stories, and Amber Burns continues her Boneyard Brotherhood series with the next war hero, Jeremiah Cole. Cole is brought into the Club as the Enforcer, making sure all of the members abide by the rules of the club. One night he is injured, landing him in the ER, where he meets Dylan Yates, his nurse. There is instant chemistry, and she later checks in on him at his home. These two have some real fire between them, and their scenes are hot. I do wish they had gotten to know each other a little more, I think their story would be more enticing. With that being said, the story continues and their love grows. Burns also has a really good balance in the story with the business of the club, where we get to see Cole(as well as Dylan) in action. She does leave us with a slight cliffhanger, and it makes you just want book 3 to see where things are going to go next.

Gideon Welles is perfect for this alpha male type of book. His gravelly voice gives the perfect masculine, edgy sound while he seamlessly switches to the female voices. He makes listening easy.

Cliffhanger..... Sort of....

I knew going in that this was a series, however I also thought each was a standalone. It's difficult to explain how the book is a cliffhanger without spoilers, so I will say this... It is not a BIG cliffhanger as when someone walks out the door or awaits results of a pregnancy test kind of thing. The author makes it clear where the relationship status is going, but there is still definitely unfinished business as far as the complete story is concerned. It just didn't feel like a complete story to me and that always bothers me.

The narrator was not one of my favorites, but not a terrible listen. Speeding up the narration more than I normally do helped a bit.

As far as MC series go, this book at is pretty soft-core, so if you are looking for an intro into MC romance, this may be a good one. Profanity and murder at a minimum, no intense Alpha male behavior, no club whore scenes, etc, so it may be a good MC starter for those who haven't tried the genre.

Jumping right into it...

I downloaded this series on from a promotional audiobook website as I really love the MC genre. I liked the first book in the series even though it didn't really get into the club very much. This one however jumped right into the sex and I really wanted a bit more story. They are quick listens and I know the timelines are sped but the instalove within days kinda throws me. I did really liked that this story picked up where the other one left off timeline wise just with a different club member. The narrator fits the character very well and gives off a biker vibe and makes it an enjoyable listen.

mc bad boy with a heart

Holy MC bad boy! Get ready to meet Cole. Book one of this series showed the good side of the MC. This book shows the muscle of the Boneyard Brotherhood MC and it's smoking hot. Cole is a veteran and didn't really have a purpose until he was recruited while a bouncer at a strip club by the MC and he becomes their enforcer. He is the guy that you don't want paying you a visit. I love that this story picked up where book one left off and handled a problem that I wanted to see dealt with. Even though Cole is in the Brotherhood he still keeps his distance. He doesn't let anyone too near him or his heart. That is until he finds himself in the ER and a beautiful nurse takes his breath away and slowly his heart. Dylan is the perfect woman for him. She doesn't push love and she can handle his lifestyle. As she starts to steal his heart or him steal hers, Cole looks at his life and realizes that he is pushing away the group of men who have had his back. He isn't just in the MC to do a job. Then stuff gets real and all that Cole now cares for is in jeopardy. This was such a great MC ride. It has everything MC fans love: bikers, action, steamy romance, drama, edge of your seat moments and so much more. Highly recommend this series and this book. It can be read as a standalone but much better after book one.

Excellent Narration

When I saw that this book and the first book were available on the Free Audiobook Promo Codes site I was excited to get them as I had already listened to Rebel, the third book in this series and really liked it. After listening to these two books however I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I thought they were way too focused on the sex and not enough on the storyline. I found myself fast forwarding half the book as there were just too many sex scenes for me. I did like what story there was in each book and liked the characters in the books, there just wasn’t enough attention given to their stories. The narrator did a fabulous job with the narration though.

Thank you for the audio

Thank you for the audio, I voluntarily give this an honest review. Gideon Welles did a fantastic job with this book. Cole turned bouncer to enforcer for the MC after Ted and Wilson convinced him to take the job. a stab wound sends him to the ER only to meet nurse hottie Dylan. willing to show her he could change if she would only allow him the chance. can he prove it to her? or when Danger strikes the club again will that push her to far?

the ways love can change you

I absolutely love it when a big strong military man meet someone that completely changes his views on things. Especially when these changes are for him to have a better outlook on life in general.

Gideon Welles, read me some more....

If you're after a hero with a gravelly voice, then narrator Gideon Welles is your man! Gideon is great as Jeremiah Cole. His deep voice carries across a spectrum of feelings from caring to scary. You would think that such a deep voice would come with a female sounding quite 'manly' but the voice of Dylan is also well done. I would definitely listen to other books read by Gideon.

This is my first Amber Burns book (audio or print) so I had no set expectations at the start. Overall, I enjoyed the story and did not feel I was missing anything by not having read the first book in the Boneyard Brothers series.

Even as a member of an MC that espouses brotherhood, Cole is very much a loner. It's not until he meets Dylan and recognises her importance to him personally, that he begins to open himself up to his other MC brothers. For me, this story is more about Cole's journey as person and his role within the club than it is about his relationship with Dylan. He's a club enforcer and the book does not shy away from the detail. It's not as gory as say, Susan Fanetti's Signal Bend series, but we do get to read about the messy bits.

Dylan and Cole are hot together and the sexy times are well written. It is a case of instant attraction and while I do believe they are suited as a couple, I wish the story was longer so we could spend more time with them.

The litmus test is whether I enjoyed this book enough to want to read more by this author, and the answer is yes.
