Publisher's Summary
Mitch Rapp, the CIA’s top operative, searches for a high-level mole with the power to rewrite the world order in this riveting thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author Vince Flynn, written by Kyle Mills.
Mitch Rapp has worked for a number of presidents over his career, but Anthony Cook is unlike any he’s encountered before. Cunning and autocratic, he feels no loyalty to America’s institutions and is distrustful of the influence Rapp and CIA director Irene Kennedy have in Washington.
When Kennedy discovers evidence of a mole scouring the Agency’s database for sensitive information on Nicholas Ward, the world’s first trillionaire, she assigns Rapp the task of protecting him. In doing so, he finds himself walking an impossible tightrope: Keep the man alive, but also use him as bait to uncover a traitor who has seemingly unlimited access to government secrets.
As the attacks on Ward become increasingly dire, Rapp and Kennedy are dragged into a world where the lines between governments, multinational corporations, and the hyper-wealthy fade. An environment in which liberty, nationality, and loyalty are meaningless. Only the pursuit of power remains.
As “one of the best thriller writers on the planet” (The Real Book Spy), Kyle Mills has created another suspenseful read that not only echoes the America of today, but also offers a glimpse into its possible future.

Made me want to ask for a refund.
I am a huge fan of this series. I have enjoyed the books so much that I have read each one at least three times. That is, until this one.
To me it felt like I was reading/listening to a Tom Clancy novel that was abridged from 28 hours to 8 and they forgot to including the ending. I felt lost, confused and to be honest a bit angry with the entire story. I won’t be reading or listening to this book again.

Amazing - but half of the story!
Look - if you're reading enough Mitch Rapp novels to make it this far then you already know this is going to be amazing. This book continues the epic journey of the baddest man to ever pic up a Sig. Its read by a living legend who is the ONLY choice for listening to Mitch Rapp and the others speak. So - buy it.
That said - man! I wanted more! 8.5 hours isn't enough for me! Its a great lead-in to the next phase of the life of Mitch Rapp.

Horrible Ending
Writing is OK yet sometimes really bad. Story line is OK yet unfinished, ending leaves you hanging like WTF just happened? Where is the real ending to the story! I guess they are motivated to sell you the next book and do not care if you are satisfied with this one. Also the ending involves about 15 min of rambling verbosity from a character who thinks (out of character from previous books) that they know the world better than most, thus giving him the right to assassinate Mitch, the world's 1st trillionaire and the world's leading pandemic doctor.
Narrator is a living legend, he is one of my favs and that says a lot as I've listened to 4,000 books. One of the secondary characters from the entire series is written way out of character, as author takes liberties with him that are unwarranted and ends in tragedy and a travesty.
U.S. President cares more for his bank acct than his country and willing to commit treason to enhance his wealth.
Author asks probably 250 pointless questions in this 8.5 hour book, rendering it down to 7.5 hours - as all those questions are worthless speculations and fill words to complete his minimum quota to launch book. Often the author will ask 3-4 worthless questions back to back that are utterly a 100% waste of the readers time.
Author also says "maybe" probably 150 times, same as above, total 100% pointless speculation.
Mitch takes 1 chance action that has a 99% probability of his death, which is so unrealistic.
I hope Mitch & Irene quit their CIA involvement and go to work for the 1st Trillionaire, as the politics in these books are often sad.
Author needs to get more creative instead of using IE a virus pandemic that comes from a Chinese wet market. Editor makes a mistake in chapter 17 with "gorilla" being said back to back. Why cant the editor not only edit out mistakes but bad writing as mentioned above?

Disappointed Enthusiast
An ardent devotee of Vince Flynn I find it difficult to believe ENEMY AT THE GATES deserves a place on the shelf with his earlier masterpieces.
I thought the story was poorly developed, lacked cohesion and left too much to the imagination of the reader without foundation. If this was an abridged version (I never read abridged texts) and I found this out after reading it would make more sense.
