Publisher's summary

Recently married ATF special agents Thayne Wolfe and Jarrett Evans are ready for some normalcy to return to their work in the ATF the way it has at home. They’ve just moved into their new house and neither of them are prepared for their next assignment, being tasked out to the FBI along with the rest of their team. They should know that when a desperate threat to national security is identified, the situation calls for all hands on deck.

FBI special agent Mac McCallahan and his partner Lincoln Snow have a new boss and are handed a dangerous case involving rogue military elites as strong as an army. Someone has plans to take over control of the world’s supply of palladium, crippling the US economy. On top of all that, two of the men on their combined teams admit an attraction to each other, which complicates the entire mission.

This time around, ATF special agent Nicodemo Devecchio and FBI special agent Mac McCallahan are sent into undercover while Thayne and Jarrett are assigned to monitor things from the SCIF as if Jarrett could easily just sit still and watch...as if.

In a monumental undertaking, US security forces, here and abroad, have one goal in mind: stopping an enemy intent on taking down their government any way they can.

Join Jarrett, Thayne, and all their friends in the final installment of the Death and Destruction series. The audiobook also includes an exciting excerpt from Thin Blue (Thin Blue Line series, Book 1).

Questions

As always I love this series and this book. Patricia Logan never fails to intrigue and capture my full attention. I hope this series continue from here in some form. So many unanswered questions remain.

What a story

Michael Pauley as Jarrett saying Darlin' is panty wetting good. We get to see FBI, and ATF working together again. Thayne and Jarrett leading the gang into a wild extravaganza. LOVED LOVED LOVED it

Exciting as Always

I thought the focus being on other people in the main case would make me like this book less. That was not true. this is just a great cast of characters.

Good but a bit illogical at times

3.5 Stars. I have loved this entire series but I will be honest and say that this was my least favorite. The plots are always over the top but this one took that to extremes. There were so many things that made no sense.

Sending the two women into the prison and then having Thayne and Jarrett on "standby" in case something went wrong but keeping them several hours away with no easy way to get to the prison except flying a commercial airline was ridiculous. Jarrett "Borrowing" a helicopter from the Marine Corp was beyond ridiculous - would NEVER happen. Having the prison officials and local FBI wait until Thayne and Jarrett could get there to handle the rescue made no sense - what can they do that other ATF or FBI officers can't. I love them but they aren't gods. Sending Mac and Nic into the building with no back-up plan and no good intelligence was also ridiculous and stupid. It was like they were planning on the agents not being able to get out and probably being killed. I spent way more time trying to understand stupid decisions and rolling my eyes. I also really hated that Mac came off as somewhat unprofessional while they were under cover. Okay end rant - it sounds like I hated this book and I didn't - I just wish the plot had been a lot tighter.

This was more a book with several MC's - more of a group book then a final Thayne and Jarrett book. There were some great moments and I never get too much Thayne and Jarrett but it was a bit bittersweet considering the OTT plot. Once again though the narration was fantastic. I love the voices and the narrator really brings Thayne and Jarrett to life.

one of my favorite series

Did the story keep me engaged: absolutely
Were there any parts I found annoying: no
Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: in a heartbeat

Story comments: I love that this series is continuing and we are getting stories for the side characters. Mac and Nico are deserving of a story and this was a great adventure.

Patricia Logan has written a great series for anyone who loves action, adventure, intrigue, and romance.

Narrator comments: Michael Pauley does an amazing job with this series, there are a lot of consistently recurring characters and they are always voiced the same and the intonations and emotions are always on the mark.
