Publisher's Summary

There comes a point in your life where you have to say enough is enough. I wasted my college years on a guy who played with my head, played with my heart. I was blinded by the fairy tale, the one that didn't exist. The day I gave up on the idea of happily ever after, my focus became me. Moving forward and establishing my career. Until one day....

I didn't expect him. My new boss, a six foot two, inked rock god. I believed I was working for the record label - I was wrong. It's impossible for me to keep my distance; believe me, I've tried. He's not who I expected him to be. He's so much more...he's emphatic.

Logan maybe, Kacen yes

Loved Kacen, Logan not so much, at least not at the beginning. Kacen falls for her hard from the beginning and the sweet romance is slowly building but Logan is holding out till almost the end despite him showing her over and over that he is the one. It ends in a HEA with a surprise for Kacen on their wedding night that makes him very happy. Enjoyed the voices of the narrators, Ms. Macie warm voice for Logan is fitting her character and Mr. Hobbs's Southern voice for Kacen is to die for.

It’s a struggle

The story is good, but the female lead voice is tragic, especially when impersonating a male voice (cringe worthy). I couldn’t take much more once reaching chapter 5.

LOVED IT!!!

Logan and Kacen were just perfect for each other. My heart broke for Logan in the beginning but it was absolutely the BEST thing to happen to her. I can’t wait for what’s next! The narrators fit the character’s personality perfectly!

Love Nelson Hobbs for Kacen

I got about halfway through reading this book before I realized this book was also available with my Audible Escape membership. I have to say how perfect Nelson Hobbs was for Kacen with the perfect Tennessee twang. I love the story, love the characters and this audio was the perfect way to experience it.

The non-player musician...

I actually liked the fact that the H (who is a famous musician) wasn’t the typical playboy/whore just because of his profession. I know it sounded like the other guys in the band most likely were, but that just wasn’t Kacen. I just really liked his personality and the way he loved Logan and showed her as much. As for Logan, I understood her hesitation toward becoming involved with Kacen. Some of the reviews complained that she was too slow to trust him and they felt like that wasn’t warranted. However, her only real relationship experience was with someone who she hadn’t even thought she had any reason to distrust, only to find out he was untrustworthy the entire 3 years she had allowed him into her life/heart. So to then expect her to just trust Kacen (again, a very famous rock musician), without a high level of hesitation and not knowing if she can trust her own instincts about him, seems very plausible to me. I know that being hurt like that - being cheated on and/or lied to by the person you should be able to trust the most, can really skew a persons future interactions and relationships. Throw a rock god in the mix (a profession that few seem to be able to hold while also being monogamous) and I know that would definitely add to my own hesitancy in believing that person would always be faithful. Overall, a good story. Not a lot of drama or negative aspects - just a feel good, easy sort of story.

Enjoyable.

Lovely characters, enjoyable story. The world could use more men like Kacen. He’s not afraid to express what he feels for the woman he loves, he lays all his cards out and doesn’t play games. He’s all in , head over heels in love with Logan. The bromance in the book is also beautiful, I love the relationship between the band mates. They protect and watch out for each other. Beautiful beginning to the Soul Serenade series.

Good Story line...

But the female narrator made it a painful listen. The male narrator was better but not the greatest. The characters needed some stronger voices to bring the story to life. it just felt weak because of the narrative
