Publisher's summary

High-flying debt analyst turned Buddhist nun and now author, Emma Slade joins Robin in the Audible Studios to discuss her inspirational new novel, Set Free. It follows her real-life story after a traumatic hostage situation in Jakarta which left her reeling to her journey towards becoming a Buddhist nun.

Emma had always wanted to change her life and leave her job in the City, but her recovery from the trauma in Jakarta allowed her to go travelling and explore the art of yoga and meditation. A chance meeting with a Buddhist Lama in 2011 altogether strengthened her understanding of meditation, which led to her studying Buddhism and becoming a Buddhist nun in Bhutan.

She has since set up a UK charity, called Opening Your Heart to Bhutan, which helps children in Bhutan. All of the proceeds of the book will go to this cause.

My curiosity was piqued by the woman's face.

I honestly didn't realize this was a interview with the author of a book. She sounds like a corporate big shot that came out of a kidnapping with a profound introspection of her own life. I am curious about how she can have a special needs charity for an area she can't stand being around. Probably a great book if you're into Yoga and/or Buddhism.
