Publisher's Summary

Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you'll be begging to enter their circle of friends!

Embraced at Seaside by Addison Cole is the sweet edition of New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster's steamy romance novel Seaside Embrace. The story conveys all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

PLEASE NOTE: This is true "sweet with heat", and Jana and Hunter's story begins with a large dose of steam. It is the steamiest in the series and remains true to the characters' personalities.

After working hard all day creating his beautiful metal sculptures, Hunter Lacroux likes to unwind with a hot babe - or two. But after spending a handful of nights with smart, sassy, and beautiful Jana Garner, the woman who challenges everything he does and says, Hunter wants more.

As a dancer, boxer, actress, and waitress, Jana is tough, organized, and as dedicated as she is committed. She has to be to maintain her crazy schedule. But when it comes to men, Jana's had a string of bad relationships, and there's only one thing she'll commit to - not committing.

Passion ignites every time Jana and Hunter are together, but the closer Hunter gets, the faster Jana runs. When Hunter lays on the charm, Jana throws out a challenge she's sure he can't meet, and Hunter steps up to the plate, forcing her to face her hurtful past or let go of him forever.

Not the best in the series

I enjoyed the story line, but the performance was underwhelming. Maxine Mitchell's performance and the voices she used were disturbing on the ear. Joe Arden somewhat made up it. I enjpyed the love story of some of the other couples more.

Jana and Hunter, Five Huge Stars!

Jana and Hunters relationship started out as something that was SUPPOSED to be light and easy and shifted into something more than that. But of course we all know that Addison Cole has the innate ability to make sure you’re addicted from the get go with characters that are relatable and people you want to be a part of your life.

The audible version of this book was great! Maxine and Joe are two narrators that I could listen to over and over again. Dual narration really adds so much to the story because nothing beats a male voice. Swoon. I drive quite a bit and Addisons stories make the trips even more enjoyable.

Embraced at Seaside

Jana Garner has more than enough on her plate. Balancing boxing, dancing, acting, teaching, she has no time, literally, for a relationship. Plus a string of bad breakups in the past also aren't making her quick to commit. Which is great because frequent hookup, Hunter Lacroux, is on the same page.
In fact, somewhere along the line Jana and Hunter stopped sleeping with other people and have only been seeing each other. As Hunter begins to realize this, he also begins to realize that he doesn't want to be with anyone other than Jana. But will Jana open herself up enough to let another person in again?

I really enjoyed the narrator change this time around. I liked that we have both a male and female narrator I think it brings just a little something extra to the audiobook and I really liked that they alternated based on perspective instead of just changing with every chapter. While I will say that Maxine Mitchell did really well with Jana, it took me a bit to get used to Joe Arden voicing Hunter. Just something about the inflection, but by the end I was on board with his narration.

I think this is one of my favorites of the series so far. After moving on from the original group of four female friends, I like that we moved out of that circle with the previous two books, but with Jana's story we kind of get pulled back in again. I like getting updates on our favorites characters and getting to witness some beloved shenanigans! It was enough to satisfy but didn't overshadow Jana and Hunter's story.

I loved that the book was really on the edge with the whole "sweet with heat" part. Sparks were flying between Jana and Hunter. I think that balance was just right for the story to maintain the sweet aspect, but still offer readers some wonderful heat.

I really liked the simplicity of a story about two people who, at the beginning, aren't ready for a relationship, aren't ready for the commitment, but seeing, over the course of the story, how their views change. Sometimes our past influences how we feel about a certain situation and sometimes it's just the timing. It's nothing more or less complicated or difficult than that. I loved how Hunter and Jana work towards a relationship and the slow build of everything. How unsuspectingly the person you want to be with is just there.

I've loved how Addison Cole has navigated this series from one couple to the next. Introducing new characters while keeping original characters in the background. I'm thinking we're not done with the Lacroux boys just yet.

Jana and Hunter...so deserving of a happy ending

Audio Version...

This was the story of Hunter and Jana. Hunter is an amazingly talented artist who works with his brother making custom metal sculptures. Hunter has always been a player. He’s never been a one woman kind of guy and he doesn’t do relationships. Then there’s Jana. She was hurt by guys she dated when she was younger and has decided that she’s not cut out for relationships. She likes to live life to the fullest. She loves her job as a dance instructor, she enjoys boxing with her brother, and she misses her time at the theater and hopes to get back to it someday. With everything going on in her life, the last thing she has time for is men. But for some reason, she always ends up going home with Hunter. They start off bickering over just about any topic, but end up tearing up the sheets by the end of the night! Over time, Hunter realizes that Jana is different than anyone else he’s ever known and that his feelings for her are more than just friendship. Jana doesn’t make it easy for him though. She’s so worried about getting in a relationship and having it end badly, that she fights Hunter at every turn. But Hunter doesn’t give up easily. He realizes that what they have is worth fighting for.

Irresistible relationship

I originally read this story when it was first released in print, but I was so excited to listen to it as well! Jana and Hunter are both independent, passionate people that “don’t do relationships”. Both are very dedicated to their work as well. They get together occasionally but without strings attached. When they are together sparks ignite. As time goes by, it gets harder for these two to not feel attached. Hunter begins to realize he wants more, but will Jana stick around or run? I really enjoyed the interactions between these two characters. It was also great to catch up with the rest of the Seaside gang!

Love can be found within Unexpected people ...

When Jana and Hunter first connected they could have never imagined the true connection that would develop. The two are the best at butting heads and having differences of opinions. But in the end true love wins and these two adorable individuals end up together. While reading you will learn to love each of the characters quirks and cute characteristics. I am honestly looking forward to re-reading the story soon.
Update: I have since listened to this book again through Audible. What an amazing story which was brought to life through narration. I would totally recommend downloading this book and listening to the unexpected love story of Jana and Hunter when you get the chance.

Even better as an audiobook

Hunter is an artist who knows what he wants and his eyes have set on the lovely Jana who is a challenge he is willing to take on. Jana is not much for committing after plenty of bad relationships and wants thing uncomplicated.

I remember enjoying this book last time so decided to pick it up again as an audiobook and I will say I prefer this format much better. I tend to be all over the place when it comes to just straight up reading a book but was able to focus more and appreciate the book even more. There was even some details that I seemed to have missed the last time or maybe just forgot and was able to get more out of the audiobook. Highly recommend!

Previous review :
I loved this book. I loved getting to know these characters with their dual POV, their back stories and the reasoning behind why they made certain choices. I loved that Hunter was willing to take on Janas challenge and did what he had to do. I loved that Jana was a pretty well meaning type that was pretty strong and independent when she needed to be and she was quite stubborn. I loved seeing their connection between the two go. I loved getting to hear bits a pieces of the previous characters and how they were so supportive when it came to Jana helping her out and really giving her the push she needed to do more when it came to career wise when it seemed like she was stuck where she was at. Its would be hard to describe in detail what I did love about this book but trust me when I say your going to really enjoy this sweet but steamy clean romance.

Great story...

Embraced at Seaside is the eighth book in the Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers series. Jana and Hunter really are meant to be together. But will they see it that way? I loved their story, and I enjoyed listening to the narrator. I highly recommend this book.

Love Hunter and Jana!

Hunter Lacroux and Jana Garner are definitely one intriguing couple. I truly enjoyed watching these two dance around the fact that they are truly meant to be together. Once Hunter realizes his true feelings for Jana were more than being friends with benefits, he was persistent in getting her to admit she wanted him. Jana's past definitely colored her view on relationships, but I'm glad she finally decided to take the leap and go all in with Hunter. It was also nice to see our friends we've gotten to know. There was a quote, I thought was really touching, "Love isn't about having all the answers. It's about not caring if you don't, because what happiness really comes down to is knowing that you don't need answers if your heart is full of the person you cherish most." I listened to this as an audio book which was narrated by the duo of Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden. This was my first audio book with a duo narrating and it was really good. I have to say I almost like a duo narrating better than just one individual. It was definitely a nice addition to have a male voice to listen to as well and in my opinion Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden work really well together.

Sweet read

Another Sweet Heat romance from Addison Cole.
'Embraced at Seaside' is the sweet romance of Jana Garner and Hunter Lacroux. Jana is a multi-talented beauty who is struggling to overcome past hurts which have left her with a fear of commitment and being vulnerable. To the outside world, she is strong, carefree, independent and nothing stands in her way, but there is a vulnerable softer side to Jana that enthralls you and makes you want for her to find her soulmate.

Hunter who is a woman-loving sculptor is enthralled with Jana, but due to Jana's bad luck with past relationships she is reluctant to allow him close to her heart, yet the more she fights his affections, the more interested and determined Hunter becomes.

When he accepts Jana's challenge of 'romance' he is determined to pull out of all the stops and the dates and plans he coordinates are sweet and heartwarming. Just when Jana thinks he can't step up to the plate, he goes one step further and beats her expectations.

I love the honest, raw chemistry between Hunter and Jana and I love getting to know the interwoven stories of supporting characters such as Clark. I love how well written this book was and it will not disappoint an avid romance reader looking for a new sweet treat.

************* Audiobook review ********************

I had the pleasure of listening to this book in audio format, and it was just as captivating as the first time. The narration is on point, and I love the enthusiasm and excitement that hearing the story told vocally brings.

I love Jana as a character as she is relatable and her past hurts are present, but she is on her journey to get past them. The audio experience enhances the plot and does not take away anything from the chemistry that I fell in love with between these characters.

This book is another sweet edition to the Seaside Series and I would thoroughly recommend listening to the book. Audiobooks are idea for any journey, road trip or commute you may have, or anyone who struggles in terms of reading books for finding the time to read themselves. Audiobooks have totally enhanced my reading experience, and you will not be disappointed. Suitable for all romance readers and is the perfect pick me up romance.

Addison does it again

Hunter works hard all day on his stunning, in demand sculptures and enjoys nothing more than relaxing in the evening in the company of a beautiful woman. Jenna is equally as hardworking, either during her boxing training or teaching her dance classes. Due to a horrible experience with her last boyfriend, Jenna has committed herself to no commitments.

Jenna and Hunter meet as their families become intertwined. As they meet more frequently, the passion becomes more intense and they give into the feelings. Only the more Hunter asks for more, Jenna starts to run, afraid history may repeat itself and also it could ruin their friendship. Jenna challenges everything Hunter says and does and it only makes him want her more. Jenna needs to face her decisions of the past, to enable her to get closer to a happier future.

As much as I love the story of Hunter and Jenna, I did find the female narration a little hard to listen too at times. I couldn't take well to the accent, but I did enjoy having two narrators for this story.
