Love this book!

I read this book when it was first released on Kindle and I really loved it! When I saw it was now on Audible and that the author was the narrator, I decided to listen to it and I am so glad I did! Listening to the author (and Nancy) read, really brought this book to life for me. The author changes voices and dialects seamlessly and it gave me additional understanding to the story from having read it previously. Below is my Kindle review from December 2020.

Ok, when is the next one coming?! This book was so good. After a slow start for me because I don't usually care for books on war, I got to the part where a relationship started, and I was hooked. This book has good and evil, science fiction and history all rolled into one. The relationships between the characters, whether family or friends were gripping and well written. The author has researched well, and the historical bits were accurate, This is a great read, and I am glad I kept on reading.

After the Audible version, I am even more eager for the next book!

Think the history of humanity w outside influence

Though this book is fiction, it appears that the author did his research to cover events realistically. The book follows "watchers" which are immortals that are supposed to keep an eye on humanity throughout time. The book takes liberal use of jumping back and forth in time from beginning of mankind to very recent history (Yes, Covid is mentioned). The book has the good versus evil undertones. Don't worry no spoilers here.

The narration is done in standard US accents with pleasant pitches. The speed is just right for me. (Sometimes I will speed up or slow down books as needed)

I put this in the category of what I term "masculine fiction". For this reason, I would recommend it for a long road trip for a man, bunch of guys, or a couple. I will also warn that there are Christian bible references. Also the female narrator voice is very artificial and annoying sounding. But she doesn't speak in most of the book so I didn't drop any stars for that. For future books, I recommend having the woman speak normally instead of wispy and sing-songy.

Compelling Fantasy Romance

This is a compelling and enlightening novel. The characters are well developed and dynamic with interesting obstacles to face. The author is masterful with his imagery and use of history and religious information interwoven in the story. I especially enjoyed the spiritual nature of the characters and balance between good and evil with humans as well as immortals. The book is timeless but very current. The relationship between the main characters is very well developed and rich with human emotions. This is one of my all time favorite books!
