Publisher's summary

Everyone has their secrets.

In Berinin, a new Chieftain Heir is born, but only his grandfather and a child from ArcNos know the truth of his birth. In Ferya, a denial of paternity fractures a family. In Ivaria, the plight of an orphan motivates his adoptive father to seek a child of his own blood.

These four children - MeiLom of ArcNos, Galo of Berinin, Eytea of Ferya, and Vielle of Ivaria - are part of a long-forgotten line of hominids called Hybrids.

Soon after, an ArcNosian soldier walks into the clutches and care of a shadow group with technology paling all of Ouristihra. Thus begins his rise to power, flanked by The Avatars of Fate as they preach the doctrine of The Epimetheus Trial.

With their hands firmly in the Northland powerhouse, The Avatars' focus is twofold. Topple the rest of the continent. And eradicate the Hybrids.

Derelicts, rebels, and refugees come together to overthrow the new power structure and drive out The Avatars. Nobody knows where they came from or what they're ultimately after. But one thing is certain.

"We need to operate under the assumption that nobody is coming to our rescue."

A must read!

If you’re looking for a book that once you start you can’t stop, then this it is! The story is suspenseful, exciting, adventurous and mysterious from the start! Each character in the story has a purpose. You get lost in the story from the start. I could go on and on about this. This is hands down a must read/listen! I finished it quick because I couldn’t get enough of it and put it down! Just wow!

Take it in stride

It’s got a Black Clover kind of setting. Doesn’t seem to necessarily have a single focus character for the most part as all the heroes seem to have a lot of character introduction along with development. The narrators did a pretty decent job portraying them in my opinion. If you’re looking for something slow build may want to look at it.

Gripping!

I loved this story, it kept me on the edge of my seat and had many twists I didn't see coming. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story and characters to life. I'm excited to see what the next book will bring!

Epic Fantasy At Its Finest

A well-written high-fantasy novel. The author does a fantastic job with world and character building. I loved the narration of the audio book. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life and helped me immerse myself into the world the author created. For me, the narrator sounded a lot like Wil Wheaton, which is a positive. Fans of high-fantasy will love this book. Highly recommended.

Wonderful....!

Very exciting and compelling book. Setser has a wonderful way of articulating each scene making it easy to develop a visual for each situation and setting. Eubanks was excellent at capturing a wide range of characters. I was very impressed at how consistent he maintained the distinctive voices of so many characters throughout the storyline. Two thumbs up!

Delightfully Narrated, Passionate Storytelling

Elder Blood is a refreshing novel to tune in to. It is filled to the brim with colorful characters, unexpected turn of events, magic and mortals and the full range of human emotions within a trying set of events.

The myriad of voices are delightfully narrated which makes it easy to get lost in the story.

I can't wait to see how the story continues to unfold. Looking forward to the next book already!

Will, I won't buy his next book.

This book could be a quarter of its size if the author wouldn't try to impress the readers, which he didn't, with all his nonsensical descriptions and large words when a more simple description and simpler words would suffice. It was a challenge just to listen to the whole thing and I'm glad I didn't have to read it. I'd have placed it on my, don't bother with, shelf. He should read authors like Brandon Sanderson, VB Larson, and even older authors like Arthur C Clark and Isaac Asimov to know how a good author writes. Well on to a better book.

An overall EPIC story!!!

A fantastic journey into world building. A sci-fi/fantasy "Hybrid" where swords meet guns and I get to enjoy the word Arbormancy.

Fun characters with hard struggles and even harder choices. As the characters good and evil start to shine I found myself caring for or loathing these people.

The action is hard and fast. Intense and visceral, with plenty mind blowing moments.

All around a great book. I had the second one purchased before I finished the first. Great Job 👍
