Publisher's summary

Emma can run, but she can't hide. Her home bugged. Her ex-husband taunting her and still reeling from a vile attack that only her megalomaniac husband could be behind, Emma discovers that the man she's grown to love is missing. Finding him will require more courage than she believes she can muster, but cowering will guarantee that she will lose him forever.

The question is, is his disappearance connected the savage beast she once called her husband or has something else happened entirely?

The answer to that question lies in her ability to rescue him before her ex-husband carries out his plan to kidnap her and ride off into the sunset as if nothing ever happened.

Heat level: moderate. Swearing: light. 18+. No cliffhanger. Thriller suspense level: moderate.

Great story

I love these books. The narrator is wonderful. I just wish the rest of the books were on Audible too.

Good series, okay narrator

There are 8 Heat books in Lisa Ladew's series and so far only two of them are available on audio. The series is fantastic, exciting and worth reading.

That being said, the books must be read in order to benefit on following all the various characters and enjoying the plot. There are good deals in order to purchase box sets to obtain all Heat books. As an aside, also buy the Unauthorized series by Ladew as they are linked to the Heat series.

With only two books so far available on audio, you really will have a long wait to get through the series. Each book ends with a cliffhanger so it really isn't worth getting only a few of these on audio. You will have to get the complete series.

As for the narrator, she is fine. Well paced reading and makes no attempt to use fake male voices.
