Gothic romance

This was the most boring book I’ve ever read. Too long with a very dull plot

Couldn’t Finish This One

Jane Ashford is one of few very reliable authors and I always look forward to a new book by her. Alas this one was a disappointment. I really couldn’t understand what the plot was supposed to be. I got to Chapter 8 or 9 and decided I really didn’t care what happened to any of the characters. I don’t mean to be cruel. A uneducated child or young woman left destitute by selfish parents should twist any mother’s heart but trudging through chapter after chapter, I decided to give up. I hope the story had a happier ending than the the beginning. Sorry Ms Ashford but this one is thumbs down from me.
