Thalia's life is perfect. She has her dream house on the edge of Lake Cumberland in Nancy, Kentucky. She has a thriving sex therapy practice. Her sister has just moved nearby and is handling the daily business of her practice.

She has a tight group of friends who keep her entertained and honest, and a seemingly endless supply of ladies to meet her more basic human needs. Thalia has no regrets she's without a life partner.

Or does she?

A rough break-up five years ago left Thalia's heart in pieces. Thanks to friends and family, her heart healed, and she was able to find peace and happiness again. But not without scars that have left her unwilling to be vulnerable and exposed again.

When Amara walks into Thalia's practice seeking help for her friend, something ancient and terrifying stirs inside her.

Will Thalia be able to keep their interaction professional or will the allure of "one who will be forever beautiful", as her name suggests, be too much for Thalia and her fragile heart to resist?

Great book! Very emotional during her therapy sessions. When a sex therapist needs help, who does she turn too? Found out here!
Somewhat left hanging at end. But Not a cliff hanger.

Greek goddess walks into her life and it makes her rethink her rules for relationships. A marvelous series start and can’t wait for the next one. Great performance and story. Recommend.

This book was better then I thought it would be. It looks at how Thalia comes to terms with her own life, while she helps her clients.

I suppose I shouldn't assume that this is the author's first book, but it is the first to be featured on Audible. I love romance novels in general and lesbian romances in particular and this one had some nice unique touches.
First the setting is Kentucky and this is the first piece of fiction I've read that is set there. Second is that one of the central characters (Thalia) isn't auditioning for a nunnery, she's been around and her number (sex partners) is way into double figures. Third is some focus on horses it was good to hear about some domesticated animal other than a dog or a cat; okay there isn't very much about horses but it's there.
On the negative side so many books that have the potential to be really good screw it up by using some weird contrived break up that the author has pulled from an unnamed orifice. I hopefully won't remove any intrigue for you when I say that one of the leads Thalia is supposed to be a professional counselor. However her specious rationalizations posses the type of convoluted knots that should be impossible for a Cirque de Soleil performer to negotiate.
I guess that if the author is going to try to make the lead characters larger than life and too good to be true then credulity will have to be strained elsewhere as well. I liked much of this book and if it is indeed a first novel then it's a very good one. I'm just hoping that authors writing in my favorite genre find a way to move past the the cliched breakup 75 to 90% of the way through the book. Until then this appears to be a talented writer who has created a unique setting and likable characters.

Pretty Good For A First Novel
