Isobel Avery’s first six months as an undercover poison taster haven’t exactly been easy. But this week will be worse.

Two people with nothing in common are found dead. Apparently poisoned by an artificial intelligence security system. Now Izzy needs to find out whether robots are taking over the world or if there's a geeky murderer on the loose.

Oh, and she also needs to juggle the demands of her personal life - playing along with Etta's latest deception, rehoming a mysteriously acquired stray dog, cheering up her mopey housemate, and helping Harper cut ties with her worst boyfriend yet.

But Izzy's biggest challenge of all will be helping Connor face the demons of his past. And if she can’t do it, she might lose him forever.

cute story but weird performance issues

The story is as good as the others in the series but the audio editing had issues. Occasionally the narrator's voice quality would change, not due to character voice, and it would sound louder or clearer and her accent would be slightly different. Basically the sound edits are noticeable enough to take me out of the story.

book was good, narrator had to go back and re-do a few parts so it sounds different in random lines, like she didnt record in the same studio or somwthing

Love this series

The romance is just as nice as the mystery in these cozies. The narrator is so good that I will look for more books connected to her.

Great narrator

This was a solid entry into the series. Most of the drama was in the relationship in this one. I was not really expecting it. The mystery was interesting but not very exciting. I like this series and the unique take on the heroines line of work. I have a feeling this one is laying ground work for a story arc and side character stories. I have the next in series and look forward to reading and listening to it.

Enjoying a new kind of heroine

I started the series a few days ago and couldn't quit listening. Such a novel idea to use a taster as the lead character. Certainly something different.
I have listened to Land of Zoe and can't wait to see what happens when Conner, Izzy and Eta return to LA. Looking forward to finding out ETA's true background.
