Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan continues her magical paranormal series where a town keeps its secrets, but an aging curse might just be their downfall.

The Christopher curse is one of legend - so old that every new generation knows they will be touched by it. With every spell muttered, every magical pull needed to save her town, Laurel Christopher knows she’s one step closer to burning to ash and leaving those she loves behind. She’ll fight with all she has to protect her people - and the man she loves - but she might not have enough strength left to save herself.

Jaxton Dark lost his best friend to the necromancer attacking Ravenwood but refuses to lose his mate to a curse that could take them both. He’s well aware of the loss calling them, but before he can stand up for those he loves, a betrayal cuts him to the core.

Sacrifice was always an inevitability when it comes to the curse that threatens their fate. Yet it’s only when the darkness makes a subtle and surprising move that star-crossed lovers Laurel and Jaxton will truly find out the meaning of who they could be and what they must give up to survive.

Dusk Unveiled

Laurel may be ready to give up and let the Christopher family curse take her, but Jaxton is not. He is ready and willing to fight for her life even if it could mean losing his. After losing their best friend Jaxton is determined to fight this to the end no matter what the outcome is. As the fight for the town continues Jaxton and Laurel must make some hard choices and those choices will not only affect them but those that they are trying to protect as well. Their story is full of emotion and will pull on your heart at times. I liked Jaxton from the first book and was glad to see him and Laurel get their story told. Their book moves at a good pace and moves this series forward as well as giving you a nice romance. Narrators Aiden Snow and Victoria Mei do a good job of bringing these characters and their world to life and had me quickly immersed in the story.

Loved Laurel and Jaxton

These two have such great character chemistry. From the first book you could tell they had something. Laurel is fighting it because of the curse on her family that she believes they cannot break and in the end will burn her. Jaxton can’t let her face that future alone no matter what might happen to him. He will fight for her and with her to see that they can get a future together. There was a plot twist for the overall trilogy that I didn’t see coming towards the end and so I can’t wait for the final book and couple. These can be read as stand alone but there is more understanding of they are all read in order especially for the overall story of Ravenwood. I also loved these narrators they did a great job

LOVE THIS STORY ♥️♥️♥️

I found a new growly narrator that I love. Aiden Snow was pure perfection as Jaxton. This is such a great story. My heart was breaking for Laurel and Jaxton and then it got put back together. Thank you. Talk about girl power! So much action--Oriel is not playing games. However, the Coven together just keeps getting stronger an stronger. And who doesn't love a take charge Alpha and his woman who is his equal in every way. I'm on the edge of my couch just waiting for the final book. I can only imagine what's in store for Rowan and Ash. Loving this trilogy. Carrie Ann Ryan can write any genre and it will be a solid and captivating story.

Dusk Unveiled

Dusk Unveiled (Ravenwood Coven 2) by Carrie Ann Ryan
4.5 Maple Leaf Review

Laurel is tired of not being able to help her coven or keep the town safe because of her curse. Jaxton knows that Laurel is so much more than she allows herself to be. Jaxton is determined to make Laurel see that they can not only break her curse but also be together the way they were always meant to be.

Jaxton and Laurel have been through so much together that I am so happy that they were able to get past the heartaches and roadblocks and finally come together. I fell in love with Jaxton in the first Ravenwood book and knew he was going to be fiercely loyal and protective. I knew that there was more to Laurel than just the curse. I can not wait for the conclusion to the Ravenwood Coven series.

Dusk Unveiled is a paranormal, friends-to-lovers, fated mates romance told in the dual first-person point of view and ends in a happily ever after.

Laurel and Jaxton

Since I listened to Dawn Unearthed I have been looking forward to this one, would the coven be able to protect the town, would they be strong enough if Laurel doesn't use her magic? They may have defeated Faith, a necromancer in the previous book but a new and even stronger necromancer, this time with the power of fire, is now leading the attacks.

In this second visit to Ravenwood, we meet everyone who survived the previous attacks but this story concentrates on Laurel and Jaxton, a fire witch and a hawk shifter, they are mates but they haven’t mated because of Laurel's family curse. Every time she uses her fire magic she is one step closer to her death and she believes that if they were mated the Christopher curse would kill Jaxton too.

Because of the curse, Laurel tries to keep everyone at a distance, even her brother who is also a victim of the Christopher curse. She's been through so much but she's strong and keeps fighting and despite searching unsuccessfully for years for a way to defeat the curse she continues to fight but now believes that she hasn't long left. Jaxton's determination to help Laurel may have stopped him from pushing her to form a mating bond but he refuses to let her go or to fight the curse alone. His love is strong and he's prepared to go to any lengths to keep her safe. But the curse and the necromancer aren't all Jaxton has to contend with, he's the leader of the Ravenwood Wing, the elders of which fear his alliance with the witches and Laurel in particular, and do all they can to keep them apart.

This is an ongoing storyline and does end on a cliffhanger so I would recommend that you listen to the books in the order they are released but be aware that you won't be able to listen to just one because the more we discover the more we need to know.

The narration of this book by Victoria Mei and Aiden Snow is so very well done, most of the characters were already familiar and recognisable - these two work so well together.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Intriguing Story

I find this story and series very interesting. In this story we follow Jaxon (the hawk wing leader) and Laurel (the fire witch). Every time Laurel tries to do a spell with her coven, she is burning herself from the inside out. It's only a matter of time before she is consumed with fire. And when that happens, what a glorious rising that will be.

I love the way she is reinvented. It was such a perfect way to turn the story. Her and Jaxon are perfect together. They balance each other and level each other. As much as she doesn't want to fall in love with him, she can't help but.

I will admit, my curiosity is piqued about Ash. We don't know much about him or his time away from Ravenwood. We know he's a billionaire. We know he's an earth witch. But that is about all. And his reaction to the spells at the end of the book have only made me want to know more about him. And his relationship with Rowan.

I freaking love Aiden Snow. He has the perfect "shifter" voice as he is growly and grumbly. Victoria Mei is another perfect match for the shifter world. She has the Tinkerbell style voice that is perfect for this world. Such a good combo to narrate this book.

Return to Ravenswood

This is the second of the series. It is Laurel’s story she’s the fire witch of the coven but unfortunately has been cursed because of something from long ago that actually cursed her family linage. The more she helps with her powers the more she is literally burning from the inside out.

Jaxton Dark is the wing leader and falcon shifter who also knows that Laurel is his mate even if she won’t accept it and avoids him at all costs. He can’t stand that she is hurting and he can’t help and is determined to help his mate any way he can whether she wants it or not.

I loved this book it was amazing and the story drew me in and I couldn’t stop listening and I’m looking forward too the next one of the series.

Jaxon and Laurel

Two souls meant to be together must fight not only a family curse but the evil that is determined to take over Ravenwood. This is Laurel and Jaxon's story. You will see Laurel's vulnerability in regards to the curse hurting those she cares about and Jaxon's determination to convince her they are a stronger force together. Will their bond be enough to fight the evil keeping them from their HEA?

Dusk Unveiled will keep you on edge as the war between good and evil continues. Great narration!

Laurel and her mate…

Laurel has been cursed. Her ancestors were cursed and now she her magic might kill her. Jaxton knows she is his mate but that might kill him and meanwhile the town is still being attacked. They must come together (witches, shifters and all) against that new threat. Lots of action, suspense, fights, and a traitor in the midst to come to a happily ever after… very exciting! Plus those voices 😍

wow to the story and wow to these narrators

I was swept away on the glorious tones of these narrators, I didn't stop the audiobook for one second. it's early in the morning and I've just finished the second book in the Ravenwood Coven. All I can say is WOW. I've cried, I've cheered, I've sobbed, I've screamed encouragement and I've gasped. I cannot tell you how Laurel and Jaxtons story panned out because that would give you spoilers. But I can say that I love that Hawk and fire witch x
This series is getting better and better if that were possible.
Yes our side have lost a few people but we gave as good as we got and we showed them that the Coven will not sit back and wait for the battle....we will win the war - hopefully.
I am very excited to finally find out what Ash and Rowens history is never mind their story. Bring it Ms Ryan, I have my box of trusty tissues.....replenished after every Coven story cos I sure do need them
