Much like other reviews, I came from the original reading of the series; the VA change is immediate with Threet being the one reading Ken's stat block. But in no way is this a bad change, with the change in actors we bring a different set of skills, with the imagination telling me that they started reading with this book. Maken feels like a Berserker instead of the nerdy framed character he started as, and Grandpa sounds like a man in his 90 instead of the comedic relief he had given as a break, Ken's got more flesh in that he's not as draggy when it's long spans of listening to him where you can zone. The only negative i really have with this chapter of the tale is that at the end of a hand full of chapters as the paragraphs run out you can hear the multiple clicks of a mouse reading the next chapter. But the Story is getting to a point where a lot of things could happen and that is what's going to keep me listening, it was the Adventure not the Sex that brought me to this point.

Still worth the listen

I can’t wait to see Ken become even stronger and hopefully the new races become part of the series.
I am hopeful for more good story

I love the progression and magic upgrades

The book has more of the fun and a little bit of world building thrown in that ups the stakes. It is unfortunate that the narrators have switched (but the quality is still there) though I'll miss how the characters previously sounded.

Another good installment but...

Starting this book they changed the female voice actress. She isnt bad but the previous one had so much more range and could put much more personality into her characters. The change is a little jarring.

But the book itself had so much catharsis. A few threads got tied up and Ken got noticeably stronger. Basically just a set up book for the new status quo. More or less a cut scene time skip as far as the maim cast is concerned. But up to standards regardless.

I avoided buying this for a while because of narration change but it is a good story so I finally listened. I realize the narrators are not feeling the love but changing after 6 books is shocking. It’s like a permanent change of parents after 10 years . The new narrators are excellent and well established just new to the story.
This book was a good addition to story but the author left a cliffhanger and story lacked some information. Without a bow on the end of the story and a lack of direction for the next, the anticipation for the next book is down drastically. It was a great 7 books series

Chris, as the MC, does a great job of grounding the story—he nails that “normal guy thrown into a fantasy world” vibe. That’s also a credit to Bruce’s writing, which gives him a solid foundation to work with. Jessica’s performance, though, really stands out. She brings dozens of female characters to life with distinct personalities and voices. Seriously—try keeping 30 different voices consistent, and you’ll see how impressive that is. She even mixes in different accents smoothly. And yes, Chris has his range too—“Oh, you brought the Toddster? I noticed…”—but Jessica’s versatility is wild.

Im in love with jessicas voice

The new voice actors are ok but I miss the old ones. I would prefer to wait until they were able to record it then use new voices actors. I really just don’t like the change of accents they gave characters that did not have that kind of accent. If you’re going to take a job like this listen to the past voice actors characters and not drastically change the character.
