Publisher's Summary

Bryce Slater is 18. He's a bad boy hottie who has his pick of chicks. He parties a bit. Smokes a little dope now and then. Likes the occasional random hook-up. So what? He's determined not to follow in his father's FBI footsteps.

Avery Sinclair is 19. She's in college, and during the summer she works on her grandparents' horse stables and race track as team leader. She takes her work seriously. Her future is in equine operations. She has no time for slackers on her team. But thanks to her uncle doing a favor for a friend, Avery ends up with Bryce Slater for the summer.

"Slater the Slacker" soon becomes Avery's pet name for him, but damn if she isn't determined to whip him into shape. And while doing so, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to him. But he's so not her type!

Bryce Slater quickly gets on the bad side of his new boss - saucy, little half-pint Avery Sinclair. She's a sexy, little spitfire who is determined to break his spirit. But in the process, Bryce finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. But she's so not his type.

What started out to be a summer of tough love punishment, turns into something both Bryce and Avery never expected. Just as things are heating up, a blast from Bryce's past threatens the fragility of his new found relationship with Avery.

Great Story & Narration🎧 ❤️G-Man's Next Generation!

I loved this story, it captivated me from start to end. I have become a huge fan of Andrea Smith’s work, she has a wonderful writing style and creates stories and characters that are interesting and real. I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy the first two books in the G-Man series and am anxiously waiting for the rest of the series to become available on Audible, which is happening soon. While waiting I was happy to see this new release on audible. Dude Interrupted is a G-Man, Next Generation is Bryce’s story, his parents Samantha and Slate are from Diamond Girl. If you were expecting Bryce to be just like his Dad, a diehard G-man, well think again. He is more like a typical angsty teen, though he did inherit a badass attitude and good looks, with no plans to follow his Dad’s footsteps. But he finds himself in a heap of trouble and with a court order he gets sent away to go work on horse ranch cut off from friends and life as he knows it. He is not happy about it but abides and tries to acclimate. Avery Sinclair is the supervisor for all summer workers, including Bryce. She has a take no crap attitude and great work ethic. I loved when these two first met, I loved that she had no problem setting him straight right from the start. I also loved how their opinions of each other begin to change and they start to become friends. All is starting to go well for Bryce until something from his past comes for a surprise visit. A lot goes on in this story, it is well plotted with some plenty of drama, angst and some great plot twists. I loved the build up to romance between Bryce and Avery and most of all I loved the direction Bryce chose to take his life and the great ending. Andrea Smith, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, David Black is a terrific narrator and voice performer. He brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. He did a great job projecting the emotions of the characters as well as the drama of the story into his performance. He his an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for a great listen🎧

I LIKED IT!

I really enjoyed it! This book caught my attention from the very beginning and held it throughout the entire book. The narration was great! The author did a great job with the character builds and plot. This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I seriously have to read the other books in this series! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Reviewed for Audiobook Boom 💥

Bryce Slater bad boy teen, till he’s caught with his pants down and sent away to work on a horse farm to pay court fees. Avery Sinclair a very ethical boss, plus Mandy a mistake from his bad boy days teach Bryce the ropes and a deserved lesson in life.
David Black the narrator of this G-man next generation series did a nice job bringing these characters to life.

What devious people

Bryce had so much growth throughout the story, even when evil and liars tried to interfere. I actually felt sorry for Bryce most of the time
He was a young boy and made some bad choices. Avery acted like a little Nazi with a chip.on her shoulder and was biased about Bryce before she even knew him!! I wish Avery would have mentioned the phone call she overheard between Mandy and Sam !!! Disappointed!!! Evil come in all sizes and shapes. Good ending . The narrator added to my enjoyment of the story.

Fantastic!

WOW! What a wonderful story! I enjoyed it from the start to finish! A young man with a chip on his shoulder was sent to Virginia to work the summer to work off his debt. He manned up and did his duty. David Black did an amazing job narrating the characters. He did the voices perfectly!

G-Man series is very good

I have to say, that I really enjoyed the younger children in this series. It was nice to see them all grown up. Story of them in a ranch was great! I think I need to get into some cowboys now! Loved the way this ended. Andrea always brings it when she writes.

Good twisted tale

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a nice twisted coming of age tale. I loved how the heroine made the hero bring himself to the realization that he was more than he was pretending to be. Glad he got himself together. The narrator was good. Enjoyable story.

Dude Interrupted

Bryce is the hot bad guy all the girls want. But being the only one over age at his high-school friends party means jail for him. His parents think he is in too much trouble so they ship him off for the summer in exchange for the jail. But they totally forget to tell him much about it. And his new 19 year old boss seems to be a pain. The story is nice and so was the narration.

Wonderful Y/A Read

Bryce Slater started this story aged 18, as a bit of a delinquent partying his way through school. When things go a bit too far, he’s shipped off to a ranch in the middle of nowhere for the summer. Avery Sinclair, the 19 year old granddaughter of the ranch owner manages the staff, and she’s not going to let Bryce get away with doing nothing. A wonderful coming of age romance, in which we see Bryce mature to be the man I would expect to be raised by Sammie and Slate (Diamond Girl, G-Man, book 1). We also see a little bit of drama thrown in to the mix that I loved, because, everyone loves a bad guy or girl in the storyline, right? Great characters, great story, and perfect narration from David Black, who pegs both Avery and Bryce with perfect teenage tones.
