Klerk offers an easy, actionable five-step process to help you have an incubation dream, a dream that reveals the answer to your question. 1. Identify the problem and decide that you'd like to ask your dream for help. 2. Develop a question that relates directly to the issue for which you are seeking answers. 3. Engage in a ritual aimed to enhance the dream response, like meditation. 4. Sleep, and upon waking, immediately record your dream or dreams. 5. Reflect on the dream and determine the "lesson" it offered.

Really well laid out and clear instructions to help you learn from dreams and understand what they are telling you. Glad I picked this one up.

Clearly A Man On A Mission

There was much useful practical advice in this book, but the best and most impactful aspect of the book is the moving and contagious sense of Klerk listening to and following his own calling and mission. In the spirit of Jung, whether one follows Klerk’s frameworks, or not, he moves us by his own eros to dream the dream of our own life onward.

Fantastic guide to dreamwork

Wonderful book. So glad I have it. I’ve taken courses with Machiel before and it’s been a long while. This is an excellent reference guide to dream exploration and to incubating dreams to learn more about living a full and awake life.

Great Guide to the dream world!

I can honestly attest to the books wonderful guidance. The first night I had it, I had only read a little bit. That evening I asked question regarding my value. I recalled a dream that indicated my need to value myself. It helped me open myself to view things in a new light with a fresh persecutive. It opened a new path to my journey of self love. I have now completed the entire book and I am excited to incorporate and utilize the gained knowledge in other areas of my life. I am excited about what this book will offer in support of my souls desire to excel to new heights of self awareness.

A Practical and Effective Guide to the Dream World

I found out about Machiel Klerk's book during a This Jungian Life Podcast. I immediately bought it on Audible and have listened to it once and am on my second listen. I have also bought a copy for my library. Having explored dreams for a number of years, I find his step by step approach easy to follow, creative and fun. If the steps are worked consistently, I believe one can find deeper, spiritual meaning in one's life. This book is like a key that unlocks the door to our inner world. I highly recommend it for anyone who is exploring their dream world.

Dream Guidance Incubation

This is a very helpful book that shows you how to connect with your dreams if you want to live a more fulfilling life. Unlike other “tedious” dream books, (because they go on and on narrating Someone else’s dreams), Dream Guidance is very easy and entertaining to listen to. The Author has put a lot of fantastic work and has a very refreshing an humble attitude about his work.
I’m currently applying the steeps shown in the book with great expectations, curiosity and good results. Loved it!

When student is ready the teacher appears

Machiel’s narration is kind and heartfelt as he shares his personal stories and stories from people he worked with.
The book offers practical knowledge on steps to follow before dream incubation, insightful instructions on questions formulation, and discussion of common mistakes.
I was very happy to hear Machiel’s thoughts on shamanism and magical use of dreams as well.

Something that I did not expect and jumped in my sit when I heard - mentioning of Asclepius! This was sync that showed me that my attempts to connect with this deity were not wasted. I am working in clinical research field in an effort to find effective and less toxic treatment for patients with cancer (cancer immunotherapy). Last month, I bought a statue of Asclepius and placed it on my working desk, hoping, the devine physician could guide me in my work. I was glaring on Asclepius statue when Machiel was reading the chapter describing Asclepius temple he visited. I felt at that moment, that Asclepius is speaking to me through this audiobook.

First night, I applied the steps described by Machiel, and got profoundly deep dream. While I realized that the understanding of the dream that unfolded will take long time, and more work to be done on myself, I immediately felt the relieve in the feelings that I was carry around with me for some time now.

I feel deeply grateful for Machiel’s work and Jung platform and highly recommend the book!

Demystified method for engaging the Mystery

As someone with a deep background in psychoanalysis, anthropology, Buddhism, and intuitive practices, I am deeply impressed with the very approachable method for approaching the deep and infinite unknown and one’s own best method accessing the guru within. We love immediate response and solutions but grow and heal from long term engagement and commitment to ourselves, Klerk gives us both. An immediate way to initiate and find a deeper solution that is always already present within and method that grows and develops with the practitioner. I cannot think of another book that gives this much ancient insight in such a digestible and ready to practice way. Thank you for such a beautiful piece of writing Machiel.
