book about reality

Starting an Amazon business is not cheap, fast, or easy. It's ok to try and fail. That is how you learn. Few people talk about the reality of starting an Amazon business for everyday people. She keeps it real. It takes serious dedication and hard work - for years... not months.

Save yourself some pain

First, the author does not have a good voice for being a narrator. She has zero personality in my opinion. I found her voice annoying. Secondly, non-fiction or self-help books should really not have Christian or other religious references in them. If you want to write a book to people of a specific religion that are starting a business, then you should clearly indicate that somewhere and categorize your book appropriately.

Regarding the content of this book, it's all filler and no substance. I'm 5 chapters in and it's been a complete waste of time. There's a lot of babble about how hard it is to be a mom, to start a business, to have a family etc. No kidding? What do you do about it? She never addresses it.

She talks about how to find your passion. First, it's not very good advice. Second, this book is supposed to be about "learning to reduce overwhelm while building the business of your dreams." Why would someone who has no idea what they even want to do pick up this book?

As someone who has and is trying to grow a small business who is struggling with overwhelm, this book has been zero help. I'm extremely disappointed and irritated. I'm overwhelmed and wasted 2 hours listening to nonsense. Save yourself some pain and stay away from this book.
