In my life, I have loved a boy, a prince, a king, and a madman. Now, I must let him go.

King Dmitri was once a prince of flowers, but when his father was murdered in a treasonous plot by his own family, all of Dima's hope and innocence shattered. At his lowest point, he took the crown and bonded the land, and in the process, he lost himself.

Now, the boy I once loved is brutal and cruel, and the best I can do for his kingdom is to put us both out of our misery before he destroys it all.

Join our valiant knight as he fights to thaw the icy heart of a mad king in this MM high fantasy romance, featuring endless pining, so much trauma, a griffin-rider with a heart of gold, a wilting flower prince, more than a little fire, and the end of a kingdom.

dima was always a complicated character to me. i never knew what to make of him. whether he was meant to be a villain or not. in truth, it makes sense for the last book to be about him. i don’t understand why some people think his change isn’t genuine. like people in real life, he had to go through things and figure out for himself that he needed help.

arkadi was an angel through and through. much fluff and warmth in their story.

as always stark and graves make a fantastic duo with their performances. made me tear up here and there

a masterful conclusion

The characters we’ve come to call family in “Dawn” and “Dusk” continue to grow in powerful, deeply meaningful ways. This story continues through the eyes of Arkadi and Dima with themes of love, denial, grief, and trust.

Every intricate thread woven through the series ties together with a grace that feels overdue and love forged in dragon fire. Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes deliver everything fans of this series hoped for—and then some!

A powerful ending that ties story lines together from earlier books. Great narration, it would have been nice if both sisters' story lines had been more developed in the series since their connection to brothers and the land were just as strong as the males. Still, I highly recommend.

Exquisite

There are some stories that just tug on your heart with the relationship portrayals and usually I avoid those. I am more into the fantasy plot and sex than the relationship itself. I especially avoid angst filled relationships where personalities, for whatever reason, are clashing.

This series really said HAVE my beer, you'll love it. And it was right. Seeing Dima get what he truly deserves, especially after masterful writing of his trauma- like when he relapses and time passes, that was jarring- really felt earned with bloodied fingernails. Arkaddi (so sorry if that is the wrong name. I NEED to read the damn synopsis before doing the review) was a darling and so believable. In any other story I would tell him to leave, but of course he couldn't leave his love and country!

And the narrators really put in their all. So damn sexy and sweet and funny. I wish I had someone to talk to about the delivery of "potato" in the beginning. I choked on air.

So lovely. Great conclusion. Sad to see it end. Can't wait for more from them!
