A fun adventure.

The Narrator transports you to this world created by an Author that has written an interesting creative story with a good sense
of humor.

Since this is a Audio Book the performance is the most important factor and with a variety of accents and a good understanding
of the material delivers on all counts.

Like Action, adventure, and dragons? Then lissenup

A fun adventure that is long enough to satisfy, and short enough that you can enjoy all in one go if you are so inclined. I got this book, due to the awesomeness that was Price's Crimson Claymore, and was happy that I continued to listen to more of his stuff. He is one heck of a writer; he knows how to craft a story, create down to earth characters, and keep your attention.

The very first thing I am going to comment on is that I absolutely adore this cover. For me, it looks like a throwback to the days when Larry Elmore painted 90% of TSR's stuff. That cat could paint a dragon. Here the dragon is not cartoonish, and carries the look of a real threat. It oozes menace, and anyone shopping for a new fantasy novel would stop to check the book out. I actually wish he had used this kind of art on the Crimson Claymore. Great story, but mediocre cover at best. This cover shouts READ ME!!!! so, excellent choice.

Next the narration; Corbett is a narrator I have not heard before, but this dude has some serious pipes. His voice is gripping, it grabs you by the lapels and pulls you in close so that you don't miss a thing. His characterizations, accents, and performance are at level 8 or 9. I really need to hear more from him before I can really say that he is one of those guys that he's got real staying power. Looks like he's done about 7 books so far, so this clearly isn't his first rodeo. I look for more big things from him.

Price pieces together a gripping story that starts at just the right spot. We enter as a village is being destroyed for its connection to the resistance. The band that we follow is small, just three people, and each plays an integral role in the story. Devarius, Aquila and Paden (not sure how to spell since this is audible) flee with other survivors, and begin to actually search for real resistance members so that they can fight back. The story is tight, perfectly paced, and holds your attention like a clock that is counting down for you to win a million dollars. I think I have found a new writer to keep an eye on, as his first book was really good, and now this one proves that Price was not a one hit wonder. I know look forward to the audible release of The Obsidian Arrow, book two of the Crimson Claymore series, and Dragonia: Revenge of the Dragons, book two of this series. Do not miss out on a wonderful author and his amazing stories. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

A fast-paced start to a fun-looking series

I really liked this. The author wasted no time getting into the story, and never let up the pace. The characters were likeable, the plot was solid and there was plenty of humour. There was a ton of dialogue, which is usually good news for audio books, and the narrator nailed his part of the deal with a variety of accents, and keeping the story flowing. An excellent listen for an audio book.

Enjoyable Dragon & Wyvern adventure

This book is a fun, family friendly adventure with Dragons and Wyverns. If you look through my previous reviews, I don’t typically enjoy Young Adult books, but I found this book to be enjoyable and entertaining. I especially enjoyed Paedyn's character. I found that the action started early in this book and the story moved along quickly. The narration was excellent in this book as well. The narrator gave distinct voices for all the characters, and even voiced the women well. His voice for Paedyn's character is probably my favorite though. I look forward to listening to book two.

Great Fantasy Adventure

This was a great fantasy adventure. I was sorry that it was so short. I really didn't want it to end. I will definitely be continuing with the series. I'd recommend for anyone interested in fantasy books. It sounded good but ended up being even better than I thought.

The book follows the main character as they flee the Empire following the destruction of their village. They travel across the continent looking for the fabled Resistance that opposes Empire rule. Along the way, they discover an isolated island full of wyverns. When they finally do find the resistance, they come to realize that the wyverns may be the only chance for the resistance to fight back against the empire's dragon riders and finally turn the tide against the empire.

The narration was quite good. All of the voices were perfect. Also, I didn't notice a single mistake with editing.

I requested and received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

I was Transported into the Dragonia Empire

What an amazing story I feel like I have just been transported to the Dragonia Empire!  Such a creative and well-written story. The narrator's voice is a perfect fit for this adventure, Book 1 Rise of the Wyvens is narrated by Reuben Corbett.   His voice shows you the world and characters created by Craig A. Price Jr. be ready to take the ride of a lifetime with Devarius and the Resistance.

Dragonia: Rise of the Wyverns had some of the most fascinating characters each one was unique and developed through the story. The narrator used accents to make it clear for character differentiation with the necessary emotion.

The story was engaging, and any fantasy fan will find something they love about this book it's a gripping story that starts off the fast pace and remains with a non-stop adventure join the fleeing survivors, and search for "real" resistance so that they can fight back.

The Story transports you from the real world into his world created by an Author. The narrator's voice fit in characters, the narration was nicely handled and well... overall good character development and a very interesting story-line. The book does end on a cliffhanger, so be ready to purchase the next book....

Entertaining little story

A group of people, after suffering the oppression by their lords mounted on dragons, are in search for the sneaky resistance, but in their way, they found the wyverns.

This is a little and endearing story about how dragons and wyverns change the course of history. I'm ashamed that I didn't know about wyverns before now since they are the coolest and cutest creatures ever, at least as they are described in this book.

The story is entertaining. The places they visit and the way they bond and trained the wyverns was my favorite part. I have the feeling though, that this book could have been so much better and bigger. There were some repetitions along the story, like the encounters with the first dragon and the first wyvern. I found also some repeated expressions in the text, and a lot more tell than show than I would like.

I would have also liked the characters were more developed, and that there were more interesting female characters. There are only two in the book: one became a traitor quite at the beginning of the book, and the other one was kind of involved in a romantic relationship with the main character and was overprotected at all times.

Something that bothered me a bit, but it could have been just an homage, is that there were a couple of character names that felt like copies of two Tolkien's characters.

Reuben Corbett did a fantastic job with the narration, delivering very good character interpretations and showcasing a good deal of accents and styles in order to differentiate characters.

It was a light book, but I think it would have worked better as an extended and more elaborate version, with a bit more world building and character exploration. It was very enjoyable, though, and I am curious to see where the story is going in future books.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Craig A. Price Jr.. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.\

I really like the characters,

Very well written, realistic book. Reuben Corbett gives a really good performance on this narration. All of his characters have distinct voices and his female voices are believable. He makes a really good Devarius and I loved his impish Paedyn.
