This is how villains are made

Though this series of novellas are a spin-off from the Lilith Adams Series, the origin and dark love story of Aaron and Luminita stands on its own. Set in a well researched backdrop of a richly textured medieval Romania, Jenny Allen weaves factual historical details with her gift of creative flair, and brings this fiercely Slow Burn love story full of desire and adventure to life. The triumphs and tragedies these characters experience paints a vivid picture of just how villains are made.

As for the narrators, they both did a phenomenal job of bringing these characters to life. I cannot imagine a better collaboration.

A Beautiful Dark Romance

Colored during the mid-late medieval period in Transylvania with a 7000 year old Vampire, cold, remorseless, traits typical of such blood sucking creatures, it is a dark Goddess which changes his cold heart to passion for only her.

The power plays between the two are as raw as nature itself. There is a touch of existential concern for maintaining identity, and both of them need to find the common ground of being equals. Will they find the ground? Jenny Allen has written a very hypnotic story that draws one in like the beauty of Her that captures Him.

The narrators are grade-A voice actors. Sean Crisden and Leanne Blade maintain the quality of Jenny Allen’s story with stellar performances. Leanne Blade’s accent is flawless, and Sean Crisden’s manly, grumbly undertones fit the creature.

This is a must-buy for all those who love dark creatures and have a maddening, obsessive love for the femme fatale.

An outstanding story

This is my first book by this author and I'm thoroughly impressed. It's an outstanding story. From the moment I started listening to this, I was immediately drawn in and hooked. Aaron and Luminita were phenomenal characters. I loved the push and pull between them. I also really liked the historical details that were weaved into the storyline. The narrators Sean Crisden and Leanne Blade were amazing. I loved, loved their accents. These narrators demonstrated very well who these characters were as individuals. I really liked that growly, grumbly tone Sean used for Aaron. It grabbed my attention and his voice was just lovely to listen to. I also enjoyed listening to Leanne and how she used varying tones in her voice for Luminita. Their performance was stellar. An absolute must listen to. I can't wait for more.

Have I told you how much I love duet narration lately? Well it’s my absolute fav, and honestly? This might be my top fav audiobook. Between Leanne Blade’s wonderful accent and Sean Crisden growling in my ear, and adding in Jenny’s amazing writing, I was completely swept away by this story.

Oh my gosh, I adore this so much. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if two supernatural creatures met and had their minds blown with how strong each other is? And then try to figure out if they can trust each other and if it is more than lust that they are feeling? Yeah. This was awesome. It is just the first part of the story, so it’s not wrapped up in a bow finished, but it ended at a good pausing spot. Sooo when is the next part coming to my earbuds? Please and thank you 🤣

Luminita left her home when it became obvious that her family held no respect for females, even powerful ones, and treated them as no more than possessions. After surviving on her own, and leaning into the myths that humans created about her, she comes across something new. As a Durand, she can rip the soul from a man, but she can also sense emotions. And the pure intense hunger that was in her cabin while she was gone has hooked her curiosity.

This is a shortie but so good. I’m a bit obsessed with Historical Fiction about Vampires from this time period and we don’t get enough. Hands down one of my favorites and the audiobook is pure fire. It really brings the story to life.
