Publisher's summary

Caitlyn Le Fey is enjoying her first autumn in England, nut picking in the forest, creating delicious treats in her grandmother’s enchanted chocolate shop, and dreaming of cozy evenings with the handsome Lord James Fitzroy. But the peace is shattered when a mysterious woman claiming to be a witch arrives in the village. Some love her, others fear her...and one person is driven to murder.

Soon Caitlyn finds herself drawn into a mystery with links to ancient witch trials, and - with the help of her toothless vampire uncle and a few magical spells of her own - she sets out to do some sleuthing. But strange things are happening, and Caitlyn is worried and confused. Why isn’t her kitten, Nibs, growing any larger? What does the new guest at Huntingdon Manor really want? And what is the jewel that seems to be exerting a sinister influence over her cousin Pomona?

There are dark forces gathering in the village of Tillyhenge, and Caitlyn is about to discover that the savage tradition of witch hunting is still very much alive....

Spooky going ons

I really enjoyed this book and find the whole series spell binding, especially the audio book version. I think what I like best is that the characters are so much fun that you never know what is going to happen next, like turning teenagers into chickens and the ensuring chaos, very funny. I like the mystery side to the stories but find it is the witch craft spells - the ones that don't always work the way there are ment, that have me hooked and eagerly waiting for the next book. Long may the series continue.
Caitlyn has a big problem someone is pretending to heal the villagers in Tillyhenge using magic and it has caught the attention of a witch hunter. Caitlyn knows that Minerva Chattox will be safe as she is not a real witch but what about herself and her new family? Then Minerva dead body is found and she has been killed very much like they did in the old witch trials. Is someone killing witches or is something else going on? There are also strange happenings going on in the village with unexplained illnesses striking the animals. Caitlyn also has to worry about her two cousins, Evie is secretly practicing magic behind the Widow Mags back and Pomona is acting strange, encouraging Evie to use magic or fight her bullies. Can Caitlyn get past all that and finally find some alone time to spend with the handsome Lord Fitzroy or will she be the next victim of the witch hunter?
Pearl Hewitt once again reads this great story with style and humour.

An entertaining,laugh out loud read

We find Caitlyn and family picking hazelnuts at the opening to this book in the series. She finds out about a woman who proclaims herself a " witch" staying in the village selling spells. From here we have a lot of shenanigans ensure as well as a few crazy moments happening while Caitlyn is out on a date with a certain charming young lord. We also get a few more peeks into Caitlyn 's mysterious past. We also hear more about the elusive Thane Blackmort and see Pomona in a new not so great light. All while trying to figure out who was the murderer. I was totally laughing out loud a lot during this book and was completely enthralled. This is a fantastic addition to the series and Pearl Hewitt knocks it out of the park with her narration.

More Please

This is a lovely feel good book. With my Mother’s British back ground I find the characters and their varied hopes and fears believable. The British people are modern and forward thinking but along side this the old ways are still a part of their culture of them. I hope the

One of the best of the series

I haven't laughed so much in a while. Glad that things are moving forward but not everything in Caitlin's life is good, her best friend is changing we without realizing. The book was very good I can't wait for the next one.

Earns 5+/5 Hazelnut Truffles...Deliciously Engaging!

The sixth book in H.Y. Hanna’s Bewitched by Chocolate series is a delicious gem with a compelling mystery, rich characters, old-fashion witch hunting, and with the audiobook, the talented narration by voice artist Pearl Hewitt. Caitlyn’s magical family has dealt with resistance by local villagers, but reactions are different to the new visitor Minerva Chattox, a self-proclaimed witch offering “custom spells and charms” and who professes to be descended from the Pendle witches (fascinating history). Aunt Bertha knows she is not a witch, but villagers interest turns deadly when one of her theatrical incantations causes a protestor to be struck by lightening. However, later Minerva is found dead in a manner reminiscent of witch trial torture. Enter Pearl Hewitt who takes H.Y. Hanna’s well-written narrative, delightful humor, and engaging banter, and using her artistry and various British dialects, illustrates well the tone, emotions, varied personalities, gender, and age. Excellent series with compelling witch and vampire lore, mystery behind Caitlyn’s birth, budding romance, and lots of chocolate!

I love the narrator’s British accent; Great read,

Double, Double, Toil and Truffle (Bewitched by Chocolate Mysteries Book 6), my 18th read/listen from author H.Y. Hanna. An enjoyable cozy mystery. I love the narrator’s British accent; I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Pearl Hewitt, especially her oh so cute animal sounds & really enjoyed the read. Cozy mystery/romance, captivating primary character, what other blurbs can I use to describe these books? Oh well, buy the book, read the books, get into a good author and some good characters as I have. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Now I need to find Witch Mocha Morsel (Bewitched by Chocolate #2.5), so I'll have read all the books in the series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A story of wit and imagination

I have listened to the entire series of the Bewitched by Chocolate books, and this one is one of my favorites. Although it is primarily a cozy mystery with humor and whimsical magic, there was a timeliness to the plot line that appealed to my sense of justice. It dealt with the dynamics of bigotry and fear of what is perceived as "other" and the idea of witch hunters as people who spread superstition and provoke persecution. In our current time, where we see fear and hatred on the rise, it's a reminder of an earlier brand of bigotry and ignorance.

Double, Double, Toil and Truffle has some funny scenes that I look forward to in a book by H.Y. Hanna. There are also a couple of subplot story lines that promise to become more evolved and interesting in books to come. Together the characters, plot and humor work for me to make for a very enjoyable read.
