Get with the times!

The story was fine; if you know the series, you won't be in any way surprised by this book. But one of the side characters, a Vietnamese chef nicknamed "Filet," is simply inappropriate for a 21st century book. His speech, behavior, and intelligence are belittled in ways that add nothing but xenophobia to the experience. The author should have know better; the audio performer should have known better; the editors and producers at Audible should have known better. There's no excuse; DO BETTER!

Love the humor and the storyline. Keep ‘em coming!!!! It has been a long time since I’ve read/listened to an 8 book series back to back.

Fun Series

I have listened to the entire Davis Way series. They are easy to follow and good escapes from heavy reading. Characters and scenes are often laugh-out-loud. (Especially Pine Apple natives) Amber Benson is awesome and really adds to the characterization with her accent and delivery.

Another great read by Gretchen Archer with an outstanding performance by Amber Bensen. well worth the wait!

Good Listen

Overall an enjoyable listen. At times the Bible verses were confusing, but didn’t distract. A mystery and drama without a lot of direct violence and gory details. Told in a very funny-easy listening format. Looking for other books.

Wonderful Author and Narrator!

It's been a couple years since I've listened to one of the books in this series. I was completely caught up on the previous books and a new one wasn't due for a while (and then I had to wait for the audio book to be released), so I explored others authors and made new friends. But I was between books again and decided to revisit this series, which now had a few more books to explore, and audio ready! I must say I quickly remembered why this had become an absolute favorite when I discovered it! The stories are fresh, exciting and there's never a moment when I'm not all caught up in the adventure! I found myself avoiding things I needed to do, because I didn't want to stop listening! The narrator's voices makes the story into a movie in my head! She's just fabulous! I can't wait to start the next book, and so glad there are more waiting for me! I'm just trying to force myself to complete some adulting tasks before I dive back into this amazing world of adventure, humor and intrigue! Thank you Gretchen Archer for creating this world, and Amber for bringing it to life!

Entertaining Crime Story

This crime story is not suspenseful as many are but it’s definitely entertaining and the characters voices well played.

Great series with hilarious characters! Fantasy’s voice is HORRIBLY grating but her character is very funny!

Loved It!

I hope this series never ends, these books give the listener great mysteries, great joys, and lots of laughs!

Old cosy mystery liver

The fun, laugh out loud factor is here, very similar to Janet Evanovich although no characters can beat Lula and Grandma Mazur. The ex ex mother in law and ex ex husband and all weird voiced useless characters did to get lost/ killed/ zapped…. Be gone!
