Publisher's summary

A young woman faces death when she's caught spying on a dark and bloody secret initiation ritual. Based on a true story.

Seventeen-year-old Elizabeth St. Leger is accustomed to doing as she pleases and apologizing later if necessary. However, simply saying sorry did not work the night she was caught eavesdropping on a mysterious ceremony in her home, Doneraile Court.

Bound and blindfolded, she listened as the men debated unusual ways to kill her until one suggested another option that would change the history of the world’s oldest fraternity forever.

Doneraile Court takes listeners back in time and behind closed doors to witness the night truth, relief, and brotherly love created The Lady Freemason.

Excellent read/listen

While technically historical “fiction,” Aldworth Foster does an amazing job of sifting through the various stories of this tale, eliminating the far fetched versions and presenting us with the most likely factual account of the First Lady Freemason. She fills in the gaps nicely to create a seemless and entertaining account of the events at Doneraile Court.

As a Freemason, historian, and university professor, I very much enjoyed this piece of literature!

Fantastic story of the first woman Freemason!

I loved this!! Full disclosure, I’m a total history geek and love the history of the Freemasons. It was so great to read about a woman Freemason. I’m definitely going to be doing some digging into Elizabeth’s life. I read the book and listened to the narration. I highly recommend either!! Such a great escape for a few hours.
