Publisher's Summary

Nothing comes without a cost.

After defeating the red dragon’s legion of bloodthirsty demons, Audrey can finally settle into the afterlife with the knowledge her family is safe. But her quest for a perfect existence shatters the moment Logan is kidnapped in an attempt to bend her to Satan’s will.

Audrey must now travel to the one place no hunter has ever ventured to save the man she loves: hell. Savage demons, desiccated corpses, life-sucking zombie trees, and a land of death and rot await Audrey and her friends as they battle through the fiery realm.

But Logan’s freedom comes with a price...the destruction of Audrey’s happily-ever-after. As Satan schemes for dominion over all the realms, Audrey learns that some acts may be beyond redemption.

Fans of The Mortal Instruments, Buffy, and Supernatural won't want to miss out on all the twists and turns in the conclusion of this YA fantasy journey.

Shut up and take ALL MY MONEY!

Let me tell you a little story about how this book made me feel... *screams into oblivion for 64 years* And that's not a bad thing.

I don't know how Hall managed to destroy my heart and sew it back up again, TWICE, no less, but I'd let her run me over with a Mac truck if it meant more stories like this one. We're plunged into the depths of Hell in this book, and somehow make it out. The stakes are so high and just when you think things can't get any worse, get ready for another twist. I loved LOVED this book so much. It's my favorite of all 4! And getting to listen to it after reading it was even better. I want to stay in the Life After world forever!

An incredible roller coaster of a journey

narration review and then story review

Narration review: Vanessa did an INCREDIBLE job narrating Dominion. Tbh, I didn’t love her work in the first book of the series. I think it took her some time to get to know the characters and Audrey. By the time she was narrating Dominion she WAS Audrey and did a superb job. I don’t even know her and I’m so proud of her!

Story review: Shut up! It’s hard to even explain without spoilers. Basically Julie Hall goes exactly where you think she’s going with Dominion and then it KEEPS GOING! There are times I feel like I’m in a vortex and everything’s being sucked from underneath me. Yes for real- a book made me feel this way! I could hardly breathe (and maybe wanted to throat punch Julie at that point)! I felt like I was truly on this journey with Audrey - learning to deal with some ultimate curve balls from life, struggling through them, and then hearing from the Savior Himself and receiving the encouragement to seek joy and life. WOW! This was my 3rd or 4th time experiencing Dominion- 1st time listening - and it’s incredible every time. I read A LOT. Most books, while enjoyable, almost feel like the same story over and over again. This series is in a realm all it’s own.

I want to add a note- even if you’re not a super spiritual person (or if you are)- when Audrey’s hearing and learning from the Savior/Creator/Holy Spirit, take a second and listen for yourself. It’s powerful!
I hope everyone who listens and reads Dominion understands that no matter how badly we screw up, there’s still forgiveness through Jesus 💗

Unexpected ending!

I was not expecting that plot twist, but it’s great! Such deep truths are written in this whole series. This book kept my interest all the way through because I just had to find out what happened, and it didn’t disappoint. The truths about God and how deeply He loves us, guides us, shows us grace, and is always with us is a theme perfectly laid out through the entire series. I loved it and can easily recommend this easy listen.
I think perhaps the narrator should stick to female only roles or just not try to bring a low tone to the male characters, it just didn’t work. She was great otherwise and did bring depth to the characters overall.

The Perfect Ending to a Perfect Series

I loved every minute of this. It's exciting, inspiring, gut-wrenching, infuriating, and brilliant. And the narrator manages to convey ALL of that to perfection (which I thought would be impossible!)

Destined to become one of your favorite books ever. Trust me.

Dominion was fantastic. I loved the book. It was very well read and preformed. Julie Hall knocked it way out of the park when writing Dominion.

Satisfying conclusion

Having saved her family from Satan and his legions of bloodthirsty demons, Audrey basks in the knowledge that her family are finally safe. No sooner has Audrey settled into the afterlife however, when Logan is betrayed and kidnapped by someone close, in an attempt to lure Audrey to hell.

Audrey and her friends, along with an unexpected ally, set out to rescue Logan. But with Satan scheming for dominion over all the realms, will the cost for Logan’s freedom prove too high?

Dominion is the third compelling instalment of the After Life series and what an emotional rollercoaster it was. Packed with surprises and breathtaking twists, it’s a well executed, tense and fast paced read which had me anxiously turning the pages.

From the offset I found myself totally immersed in Audrey’s daring rescue of Logan through Hell. I was particularly impressed with the authors vivid depiction of Hell itself. One could almost taste and smell the sights and sounds.

Audrey’s turmoil was palpable throughout and I did find myself frustrated at times when she failed to turn to God for assistance particularly in the first half of the book. Despite the love He had shown her time and time again, she still continued to doubt Him.

The development of the secondary characters has been exceptional. Logan in particular made an impact on me this time around. The lengths he was willing to go to, to be with Audrey. I’m looking forward to reading the Logan companion novel next which will give more insight into his mind. I was glad that a certain character got his comeuppance as a consequence of his betrayal. I was also pleased with Morgan’s development and I’m looking forward to reading his and Kaitlyn’s spin off which the author plans to work on in the future.

All in all this series has been a fantastical multi-layered journey of self discovery, spirituality and adventure. I can’t count the number of times I genuinely welled up throughout the books which is a testament to the authors characterisation skills. I’ll definitely be looking out for future works from this author.

I received a free advanced audible copy of Dominion read by the excellent Vanessa Moran and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
