“Steven Tyler is one of the giants of American music, who’s been influential for a whole generation of Rock ’n’ Roll fans around the world. Long May He Rock!”
—Sir Paul McCartney

Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? is the rock memoir to end all rock memoirs — the straight-up, no-holds-barred story of Grammy Award-winning, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and all around superstar legend Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith (and celebrity judge on American Idol).

The rock and roll epic that is Tyler’s life begins with Tyler’s youth in the Bronx, tracing his early music career and influences, his legendary partnership with Joe Perry, the meteoric rise, fall, and rise of Aerosmith over the last three decades, their music, Tyler’s battles with substance abuse, his epic romantic life, his relationship with his four children (including actress Liv Tyler), life on the road and in the spotlight, the economics of the rock star business --and all the sex, drugs, and rock and roll that anyone could ask for.

In Tyler’s own words: “I’ve been mythicized, Mick-icized, eulogized and fooligized, I’ve been Cole-Portered and farmer’s-daughtered, I’ve been Led Zepped and 12-stepped. I’m a rhyming fool and so cool that me, Fritz the Cat, and Mohair Sam are the baddest cats that am. I have so many outrageous stories, too many, and I’m gonna tell ’em all. All the unexpurgated, brain-jangling tales of debauchery, sex & drugs, transcendence & chemical dependence you will ever want to hear. And this is not just my take, this is the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler straight from the horse’s lips.”

This is pure Steven Tyler so there is alot of phallic symbolism, sexual inuendo and over description of situations. It's great!!

Sounds like Steven Tyler...like he's from the same place, speaking the way Steven Tyler would.

What made the experience of listening to Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? the most enjoyable?

Getting to know Stephen as a person rather than just a lead singer. He has true emotion and feelings. His musical talent goes so much deeper than singing vocals for Aerosmith.
I had no idea he had been in and out of treatment so many times and so recenlty even.

What did you like best about this story?

The way different music effected him and brought back memories.

What about Jeremy Davidson’s performance did you like?

I actually wish it would have been Steven Tylor doing the performance.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Hi! My name is Stephen and I am an . He's done it all!

Any additional comments?

I wish since this was an audio book, that everytime they referenced another song, a songwriter, a singer or anything like that that they could have played a bit of it. That would have made this audio book over the top!

Steven has a unique way with way with words!

Great listen. A lot of respect for his talent for walking (drawing) the line of dirty rocknroll and soulful ballads. He had it all; the voice, the look, the hooks, the personality and the lyrics. He got caught up in it and Dug himself out everytime. Should've been a better father though but a very cool dude.

Too much drug talk. rehab talk. Not enough substance. Best moments were when he talked about his mom which only last half a chapter. Love ST but this was hard to finish.

Tough read
