Publisher's summary

Stuart Milligan, Anthony Head and Camille Coduri are the readers of these three original novels featuring the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack, as played on TV by Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper and John Barrowman.

In these adventures in time and space, the travellers discover a dangerous alien predator at an abandoned Soviet naval base, a Neanderthal man in modern-day London and a world on which fiction has been outlawed.

The stories are The Deviant Strain by Justin Richards, Only Human by Gareth Roberts, and The Stealers of Dreams by Steve Lyons. Based on the hit BBC TV series.

Stuart Milligan played President Nixon in two Doctor Who TV episodes; Anthony Head played Brother Lasser in the episode 'School Reunion'; Camille Coduri played Jackie Tyler in the series from 2005 onwards.

Make it past the first story...

Three stories of uneven quality, although this is fairly common in any anthology. It's just unfortunately the weakest story is the first. Once you get past the long, rambling, tale read by a lackluster narrator, things do pick up. Both Anthony Head and Camille Coduri are excellent and make their stories enjoyable. When I relisten to this down the road, I'll just fast-forward past story one.

I am only thru The Deviant Strain however…

The narration on the first story is awful. The story is great. And I can imagine how exciting it would be with one of the great narrators who can do Nine, Rose, and Jack’s voice. Or at least appropriate accents to mimic them. Never has an accent sounded less like Nine. Except maybe when they were doing Rose. Jack wasn’t bad, only at least because it’s an American accent. But having Doctor Who narration done in an American Accent? It should be illegal! I’m praying the next two stories go better based on who the narrators are. But as of right now? Narration gets a 1 star. Sorry!

Absolutely fantastic!

While I loved the first set, these 3 stories were always the stronger pack from the Ninth books in my opinion. I enjoy the dark setting in The Deviant Strain and Only Human, and the 'unsure what is real' setting in The Stealers of Dreams.
Would recommend to any whovian.

Almost Great

I really enjoyed the first story read by Anthony Head and the last story read by Cammile Codrui the second of the three was not very good I think it was down to the reader ot was so boring that I skipped it otherwise really good Anthony and Cammile really made me enjoy the story because of their performance.

Great imaginative and fu

Great imaginative and fun really captures the ninth doctors personality as well as his companions whilst also remaining in line with the series at that time
