Do You Remember?

Tess Strebel can’t recognize her own face.

She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband.

Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: she was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.

Tess has no choice but to accept her new life and hope her memory will return. After all, why should she doubt the letter she wrote to herself? Or the kind man from the wedding photos on her dresser who seems to genuinely care about her well-being?

And then Tess receives a text message on her phone. One that changes everything:

"Don’t trust the man who calls himself your husband."

Gets old quick

A lot authors try to write stories where the main protagonist wakes up everyday with their memories erased. It’s extremely difficult to make that plot work, and this story is no exception. Story gets old very fast. Repetitiveness is predictable, but at some point the author’s writing just becomes lazy and dull. A lot of Frieda McFadden’s books read like a lifetime movie, where all the angst and tension is saved for final last minutes of the film. She’s good enough if you want something quick to indulge in, but don’t expect a lot depth.

Enjoyed every word

Frieda does not disappoint! She sucks you in from the first word to the last word, keeping you guessing the whole time. Definitely recommend.

it was a little repetitive but kind of goes with the story line. I seen the ending coming. not 100% predictable there was a little bit of a twist there but all in all I pieced it together. I listened to the entire thing in a day. I've always been the type to have to finish something all at once. I'd definitely recommend. thought it was a good story.

The narrator was 10000% amazing! She does guy's voices so much better than I expected and she can do a Spanish accent so well!

The story was amazing with so many twists, and I couldn't predict the ending! The ending made me want to pull my hair out!
