Publisher's summary

The decision to splinter backfires.

When Lauren and the others leave the safety of the valley in search of supplies and aid, they’re trapped, captured, and tortured. Escape seems impossible…if they’re to survive, it will be only be by rescue, and not without blood on their hands and tears in their eyes.

Could you watch one of your own be beaten?

The group’s captors are coldblooded and ruthless, and they senselessly brutalize without pity. Despite Lauren’s bravery in the face of insuperable odds, she finds herself heartbroken. Can she still find the will to keep fighting?

A friend from the past shows his face.

After seeing him, Lauren knows what’s about to happen, and her captors are about to find out, as well. Payback awaits on the horizon.

They stood together. Can they do the same while divided?

Until now, the community had lived and fought valiantly shoulder to shoulder, in peace amongst themselves.

But now, in Divided We Stand, new alliances have developed, confidants from years past have resurfaced, and new leaders emerge. With so many absent, and others now stricken with illness, a dangerous vacuum has materialized. Unless they can pull themselves back together, the valley will be more vulnerable and susceptible to attack than ever before.

Can citizen defenders of a country in ruin learn to stand on their own again? Find out in the fourth book of this post-apocalyptic thriller packed with action & adventure.

Another great book in this series. I find myself enthralled with what these characters will do and say next even though I don't always agree with their theories. This book had a little more conspiracy theory preaching than the last and I have to admit it sure makes you think! Lauren has changed so much from book 1 until now and she seems to be getting harder in each book which makes sense in the situations. I really want to know where Allen is and can't wait for the next book. I am devouring this series.

The narration is great. I'm really glad the author stayed with the same narrator throughout the series cause I'm not sure I'd like anyone else.

Excellent, 5 star novel!

C.A. Rudolph does it again. He managed to put together a gripping story even better then the previous one. He doesn't seem to fall into that pattern of up and down, build up novel, then action novel, like so many other authors in this genre. He flawlessly manages to build on the next book while still keeping the current story interesting and exciting.

beware no books to finish series!!!

not to late to stop before the author lets you down he has such little respect for readers to not have any ending to this series nouthing ...good bad or ugly nouthing just stops on seven .he just fell off the planet. if your readers stop when it is good and make up your own ending they all lived happily ever after ?????? what a ass to do this to his readers 😪

Big let down from last book!

Lauren was a bit cocky and a little attitude, but a good and smart person in the last book. She is a real b*tch in this book. A rude, know it all, better than everyone kind of girl now and a bit stupid about things.

Very disappointed!

I really like this series but...

Being prepared is definitely commendable and this series has helped me get more into the “prepper” mindset. I’ve made some plans and have some provisions tucked away. The thing I don’t like about this series is how it implies that ANYONE who isn’t gung-ho about being prepared and/or have some tactical training are idiots and less than the main characters. Story drips with self importance.
I still like it, enjoy the narrators voice but he cannot accent different characters to distinguish one from another like other narrators.

Not a cliffhanger this time, phew!

I finished book #4 and already I'm thinking, "Come on C.A., write #5 right away!" It's a continuation of splitting up the gang and bringing some home. I wasn't sure, but it seemed like #4 was hinting that Allen (Lauren's Dad) was still alive and out there trying to communicate? I don't think that's a spoiler alert, I've wondered from the beginning.

Oh, and I've wondered why in the heck, does C.A. divert to stories from the past all the time. What's that all about?? But, this time, he's tied things together even more than the other books. It makes me get why he has the diversion from the present story.

All and all, it was a very good book and ended on a good note this time; so put away your heart medicine.

very good series

well written series of books on surviving an EMP attack and trying to bring back our country with the help of real Patriots and good people. Kevin Pierce puts these over the top as he is the best narrator.

Finally found another great series

Great story line, amazing plot, with so many twist and turns. Everyone has a place and everyone has to do their part. Extremely happy with this book.
