Publisher's Summary

Through the telling of events from his own life, Wes Moore (author of the best-selling adult title The Other Wes Moore) explores the issues that separate success and failure. He also counterpoints his story with another man, someone who shared the same name, was almost the same age, grew up fatherless in a similar Baltimore neighborhood, but is serving a life sentence for murder. Compelled to write to the other Wes, the author was surprised to receive a reply. And so began a friendship, as letters turned into visits and the two men got to know one another. This compelling story about the challenges of growing up and the responsibility for the choices we make, is sure to inspire.

Beyond encouraging !!!

I truly appreciate Wes Moore, taking the time out to share his story. ..The life Wes has lead....Soooooo many others are leading as we speak. To have his life written out will give many young ones the chance to Think, see themselves as they are. .and possibly CHANGE....I've honestly witnessed many Wes Moores and also Wes Moore around my neighborhood growing up and in my own family. Its extremely hard to witness self destructive behavior, when all you want is the best for a person. ..With being a divorced single mother of 7children, 5 being boys ...I can say I truly have had to create a strong spiritual foundation for my children due to the absence of there physical father's and allowing there HEAVENLY FATHER'S presence to be strong and powerful enough to be there guide. ..so far so good my ...14yr old son had to read this book for an 8th grade summer reading program...I must say as a family we were all so drawn into the audible version that all 8 of us now know Wes Moores story. ....This book truly makes me appreciative .THANK YOU JEHOVAH GOD FOR YOUR LOVING SUPPORT with my family. ..!!!!!
