Publisher's Summary

The next sinfully sexy standalone book in the best-selling Dirty Rich series by Lisa Renee Jones!

Grayson Bennett.

He's a billionaire, a lawyer, the king of the world to some. A professed lifelong bachelor. A man who took his father's business and fortune and turned marginal success into an empire. Now someone is threatening that empire and he's going to burn them to the ground. But he'll need the help of one person. He'll need her.

That woman is Mia Cavanaugh, criminal attorney, ex-lover, a woman who believes he betrayed her, a woman who could burn him to the ground, but she won't. Because she loves him. Because he loves her, and it's time that she sees the truth of the past.

Now, he's handing her the key to his future. He's giving her the chance to burn him to the ground. He's letting her see the real man beneath the surface that not even she's seen in the past. She has to decide what to do with that man. Love him or destroy him.

I couldn't stop rolling my eyes.

I saw the high ratings and took a shot on a book by a new author. The narrators (Joe Arden and Erin Mallon) are great. The material they had to work with, not so much. The heroine is whiny and annoying. Falling back to the same "he betrayed me but I love him" and "I understand what happened now, but he destroyed me" over and over. She kept going on and on about how she paid for her own stuff and didn't want her billionaire boyfriend's money. Ok....I got it the first 3 times it happened. The hero who is supposed to be so powerful just keeps saying things like, "I can't breath without you. I love you" when he should tell her to stop being so annoying. I tried to like it. The flashbacks were written well, so the story did flow, but the characters might be the least likable people I have read about. I think if they hit on something once or twice it would have worked....but the over and over and over again with the "pay with my own money" and "he betrayed me" "she destroyed me" BUT "We will get our happy ending" just didn't work for me. Sorry.

Entertaining Suspenseful

Dirty Rich series my guilty pleasure. Each couple has great dynamics, pull and emotions.
Betrayal introduces us to new couple whose love went haywire because of murky circumstances. Now one year later they come back together because both of them are still in love and because of danger looming in front of them. Lisa took us on amazing ride, made me fell in love with Mia and Greyson and after harrowing ordeal made me cheer for the couple they always should’ve been.
Amazing narrators Erin and Joe add another depth to the story.

Way too much repetition

Too much repetition and too much useless padding when there was enough to develop this plot into a real masterpiece. Guess it was too big s nite for Lisa Renee Jones to develop like that. This is a good attempt, nevertheless. The female narrator did not add to the listening pleasure. She places unwarranted emphasis to the end of each word and that really hurt my ears. An average story.

Too much jumping around. Did not finish

This story takes place at three different times in the couple's relationship. The writer takes us through these times, but not in any sort of sequence. This might not be a big deal to some, but to me, when I need to stop and start a few times throughout my day, I got confused where we were in time. I became so frustrated I just turned it off. Then I was frustrated more because I had already gotten through over half of the book.
Also, can people just talk to each other, please? If you claim to have been SO in love and a problem arises and you just shut down...that's enough to show either you weren't that in love, or you are immature. No matter what happens and the relationship ends, dont you want some closure? Ugh.

Most annoying female narrator EVER!!

This woman adds a "huh" and the end of every sentence. It is so flipping annoying, weird, baffling, frustrating. How does she not realize she is doing that?? Why doesn't the director stop her? How does she get away with this over and over? How does she even have a job narrating?? I have no idea about the story because I could not bear to listen. Hence the 3 stars.

Average

I didn’t hate this book but it definitely wasn’t as good as the other books. I feel like Gabe’s story should have been in place of this one. I also wish part 2 of the other books were right after the first one ended. That’s a little frustrating. All in all, I’ve enjoyed all of them this far

Entertaining Romance

Mildly suspenseful. I could do without all the graphic sex scenes but this is how it often is with "romantic suspense" genres. Narration was great.
