Loving Kim Jae-Min isn't always easy: Jae is gun-shy about being openly homosexual. Ex-cop turned private investigator Cole McGinnis doesn't know any other way to be. Still, he understands where Jae is coming from. Traditional Korean men aren't gay-at least not usually where people can see them. When a singer named Scarlet asks him to help find Park Dae-Hoon, a gay Korean man who disappeared nearly two decades ago, Cole finds himself submerged in the tangled world of rich Korean families, where obligation and politics mean sacrificing happiness to preserve corporate empires.

Story
There are eight million stories in the City of Angels but only one man can stumble upon the body of a former client while being chased by a pair of Dobermans and a deranged psycho dressed as a sheep. That man is Cole McGinnis. Since his last life-threatening case years ago, McGinnis has married the love of his life, Jae-Min Kim, consulted for the LAPD, and investigated cases as a private detective for hire. Yet nothing could have prepared him for the shocking discovery of a dead, grandmotherly woman at his feet and the cascade of murders that follows.

Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. Havoc is handsome, mysterious, and somehow, my closest companion, even if we don’t always get along.

Publisher's Summary
Sheila Pinelli needed to be taken out.
Former cop turned private investigator Cole McGinnis never considered committing murder. But six months ago, when Jae-Min's blood filled his hands and death came knocking at his lover's door, killing Sheila Pinelli became a definite possibility.
While Sheila lurks in some hidden corner of Los Angeles, Jae and Cole share a bed, a home, and most of all, happiness. They'd survived Jae's traditional Korean family disowning him and plan on building a new life - preferably one without the threat of Sheila's return hanging over them.
Thanks to the Santa Monica police mistakenly releasing Sheila following a loitering arrest, Cole finally gets a lead on Sheila's whereabouts. That is, until the trail goes crazy, and he's thrown into a tangle of drugs, exotic women, and more death. Regardless of the case going sideways, Cole is determined to find the woman he once loved as a sister and get her out of their lives once and for all.

Best in this series to date.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Oh hell yes! It's so engaging and well spoken.
What other book might you compare Dirty Deeds to and why?
Very similar to Rhys Fords Sinners Gin series, another series with a couple sexy men that can't keep their hands off each other, or the dead bodies from piling up on their lawn!
What does Greg Tremblay bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think that he has really encompassed what Ford poured into these characters when she created them, he brings them to life in my mind.
If you could take any character from Dirty Deeds out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Jae. I've listened to Cole talk about how he moves so gracefully for so long that I'd love to see those long fingers and legs in a constant fluid motion for myself.
Any additional comments?
Cole McGinnis has been through hell and back in search of a little piece of something to call his own, to have a family and to just be happy. But there always seems to be some deranged psychopath hell bent on destroying Cole and those he holds dear. The last person he expected to come after him, or try to kill his lover Jae was his dead partner’s wife, Sheila. In the world of Cole McGinnis you will learn, whatever can go wrong will and as tough as Cole claims to be, the man is not bullet proof. All that he can handle, what he can’t handle is the threat of losing the person that means more to him than anything, again, and that is threat that Sheila Pinelli poses. All Sheila did when she pulled that trigger was bring down the wrath of the one man that will hunt her to the ends of the earth to make her pay for her sins.
Of course this is Cole we are talking about, so the situation has to be more involved than just a bit a revenge. A very bad man is paying young Asian men that want to be women to come to America with the promise of hormones and surgery. The price is for his generosity is unquestioned allegiance with the pills and the operations dangled in front of them like a carrot. Cole is quickly neck deep in bodies trying to find Sheila and a very elusive transsexual. And while he and Jae are finally living their lives openly as a couple, both of Cole’s brothers are having a little trouble adapting to the danger Cole deliberately puts himself into. To make matters worse, there is something weird going on with Bobby.
Murder, mayhem and madness are an everyday occurrence in the life of this Private Dick. But this case may uncover one too many secrets for Cole to come back from.
This is the best Cole McGinnis book to date! Everything was more grandiose and extreme in this story, but at the same time, it was not overwhelming as one might think. Both Ford’s writng and Tremblay’s narration kept an even, steady pace that built from the first line to the last, and what an ending. I mean, I saw it coming it was just so direct that it left me cracking up and oh so anxious for that particular story to unfold.
I have always been completely enamoured with the relationship between Cole and Jae, it would seem that Jae finally being able to live his life out loud was just what the doctor ordered. The passion and innate sexual energy between these two literally exploded in this book. I’m talking toe curling, eye blurring, ears ringing, off the charts sexy! It’s not JUST their animalistic attraction to one another and the way they can tear up a bedroom though, it is the way they love each other with no apologies, the trust and the admiration they have for one another that just make them that much more endearing.
As usual Ford builds a masterpiece full of mystery, suspense and intrigue that is bathed in blood and bodies then wrapped up nicely with a sexy little bow. I cannot wait to sink my teeth into Down and Dirty and see where she takes Cole’s big, brooding best friend and the brother he swore he wouldn’t take skinny dipping. A note to the author… please write faster! I need more Cole and Jae, and Miki and Cain, and Damie and Shion and isn’t there a naughty little tease you put out there for Quinn Morgan?! Hustle woman, hustle!!
Oh, right, narration. It’s fantastic. Greg Tremblay really has given Cole and Jae their own voice through Ford’s writing and his translation of how these characters would sound. The beauty of it is, I can literally picture them in my mind and think of them as real people because of his talent. Must read series people, Must Read!

The best series on audio
If you could sum up Dirty Deeds in three words, what would they be?
Best audio series!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Gosh, all of them, Nunia, Cole, Jay MIn, Bobby, Ichie Claudia.....
What does Greg Tremblay bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
One of the best, His voices are spot on, GREAT series! He is not just reading, it is full on acting and entertainment!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This author/narrator duo never lets me down!
Of course I loved this one! I mean, it's Greg Tremblay and Rhys Ford! Greg Tremblay is a MASTER at audiobooks and Rhys was on her game, giving him a kick-ass story. It was blissfully, awesomely perfect.
I swear, Greg Tremblay gives me a book hangover each time I listen to him. The next audiobook after one of his can just never, ever compare! He is at the tippy top of his game, and he shows off his skills here in book #4 of the Cole McGinnis series. I know I always fan-girl all over this narrator but he is just that good! Chills, honestly chills. Why can't all M/M audiobooks be at this level?
Okay, now that my gushing is over, I'll talk a little about the story. For the first time since I started reading this series I knew each character and didn't get anyone confused! <--- huge milestone. I followed the mystery easily, and I loved every second of it. It is amazing how attached I've become to these characters. I feel like they are my little, insane, zany M/M romance second family. Does that make me weird?
I think that Cole and Jae's relationship reached a new level of maturity in this book. They felt in sync, cohesive, and it was lovely to witness. I'm also obsessed with Bobby and what the next book has in store for him *rubs hands gleefully*.
I give up. I don't think I'll ever be able to say anything critical of this series because it has such a huge chunk of my heart. Rhys Ford has made a die-hard fan out of me and Greg Tremblay has ruined me for other narrators. And I love them both for it.

Rhys + Greg = AMAZING
What made the experience of listening to Dirty Deeds the most enjoyable?
Greg is perfection, that is all. Some fringe characters voices are similar but really I have not herd a better narrator.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Very hard to pick but would have to be either Bobby or Claudia for very obvious no nonsense 'princess' and 'now listen here boy' reasons.
Which character – as performed by Greg Tremblay – was your favorite?
Jae by far. I don't know how he does it but you can feel every word Jae speaks in the entire book. Joking or serious he is the most alive person from a book I have ever read.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Wanted to and did. After the first books I thought this would be great but it ended up just being breathtaking.
Any additional comments?
Yes. The next book need to be released yesterday and in audio. I know I am going to cave and read it first but with the depth Greg brings I'll have to buy the audio. Its out of my hands its so good.

Epic narration!
Cole McGinnis is on a mission! He needs to find Sheila Pinelli asap. If he's going to kill her or make sure she's locked up for all eternity is still undecided, but one thing's for sure, she won't be free to roam around for long. Not after shooting Jae. No stone is left unturned in his hunt. This is probably my least favourite book in the series, the hunt for Sheila got to be a bit much at times, it overshadowed the rest of the book. In a way it's fitting as Cole is obsessed with finding her, to the point where he ignores everything and everyone else. That being said, I'm still on Jae side and want Cole to just let it go, just a little bit. There are things that I love about this book. I love how Cole and Ichi are growing closer, how they behave more like brothers as they learn more about each other and spend more time together. Also Cole and Jae do grow closer, with each book their relationships gets more and more solid, it strengthens, and I'm so happy to be along for the ride. Greg Tremblay is amazing; his narration of this book was amazing, flawless really. There's not a single character that don't have their own voice, have their personality shine through his words. He never misses a single line, let alone a single word. Tremblay delivers, and he delivers every single time. If there is a magical voice out there, he sure has it. While this might be my least favourite book in the series, I still loved listening to it and I know that I will listen to it again. However, now I'm going to dive headfirst into Bobby and Ichi's story, because that will be a fun ride! A copy of this book was generously provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review for Love Bytes.

Awesome storytelling from Rhys and Greg....
Review dated April 2016. Love, Love, LOVED it. 5 'What an amazingly talented and gifted narrator this guy is' stars. The Blackadder shout out, the Mary Calmes characters too....Jory and Sam and Duncan and Aaron, but most of all for the laughs and giggles AND the tears I cry when listening to this series, the emotional highs and lows described so perfectly by Greg. The love between Cole and Jae-Min is almost palpable, the sex scorching, and although I have to say Mike is not my favourite person, the news on that front was heart-warming too. This is so much better than the Sinners series on all levels as far as I'm concerned, and as I'm 2/3rds of the way through Down and Dirty at the mo, what the HELL am I gonna do when I've finished the last story in the series?? Cry into my beer/wine/lager [you choose] I think.....
