Publisher's summary
“There are people who enjoy watching kids being killed—and eaten—by dinosaurs.” Kayce shrugged matter-of-factly. “We try to deny them that pleasure.”
It’s called Dinosaur Run, and it’s the most vicious, most twisted sport ever conceived. Attractive, athletic teenagers are snatched off the streets and transported 150 million years back in time—to the age of dinosaurs—allowing wealthy spectators to gamble on who’ll be the first to go, who’ll last longest, and who’ll be … eaten … by what.
But this time they’ve picked the wrong group of kids to mess with.
Don’t move a muscle … and never ever let ‘em hear you breathe! Read Dinosaur Run today!

It’s the summer of ’77 in New York City, and the only thing more unnerving than the scorching heatwave is the rampant murder, leaving washed-up homicide detective Richard Dietrich on edge. When Dietrich investigates a brutal mob hit the brass doesn’t want him to solve, he goes from phoning it in to getting in over his head. Caught up in a mysterious second homicide with an even more perplexing perpetrator, Dietrich starts to second guess his instincts—and his memory—as he searches for answers at the bottom of a bottle.

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

When every action and decision may determine the fate of everyone who has ever lived, the right choice is not always clear. For one man, there is no choice at all. Captain James Douglas sets off on a mundane transport and supply mission that quickly descends into disaster. Leading a fledgling society through a wild and hostile world was not part of his brief. Nor was the custodianship of all human life, history, and endeavor. Worse still, an enemy hides among his passengers, while the knowledge of a boy, just days out of school, may be all that stands between mankind and extinction.

Great story, not so great AI
Yes, I was aware of the AI narration, however it truly made it difficult to understand what the author intended to convey. Example: when the main characters in the book were meant to convey fear with “W-what?”, the narration pronounced the “w” as if it were reading the alphabet. It took away from the enjoyment of the story.
However, the story itself was appealing and I look forward to finding more from this author.

Great Story, Disappointing AI
I really enjoyed this novel. It kept me in tune the entire time. I was always wondering about the next chapter. The AI however made this at times very hard to manage. The way the AI reads noises and screams is nothing like it should and it takes a second to understand. This would have been an easy 4.5 with human narration.

Narration takes away from story
Good story and plot, thoroughly enjoyable characters, highly distracting narration. The computer generated narration has multiple errors in tone, pacing, and especially pronunciation that take away from the story. Did no one listen to this before it was distributed?

Dinosaur Run
The story has an interesting premise & I enjoyed the tale. I am not a fan of the AI voice narration and with many areas in this story calling for stammering or yelling the AI took away from the story.
