Immersive story with a perfect performance

Of all the books I've heard narrated none come close to being as well done as Noah Michael Levine has done with this book. The story takes place in a very rich and engrossing world, which can at times be confusing, especially when speaking about geographical locations, however, never enough to diminish the splendor of the story.

Couldn't stop listening

The most enjoyable part of The Dinosaur Lords is simply the world the story is contained in. The concept of Paradise and it's inhabitants is both original and familiar.

Enjoyable read, can't wait to start Book 2.

Love the story

Getting engulfed in a new world is so fun. Welcome to Paradise!!!!! It's a little hard to tell when they switch POV's. but other then that I loved it

Inspirational

What full in-depth world this author created. Yes I understand a lot people found it hard to follow along with the vocabulary the autho uses. He also does have a lot of random characters thrown that probably aren’t even needed. But the depth this guy went through to build this world is awesome! Medieval warfare while utilizing dinosaurs as war machines! So awesome!

Wanted More, Got Melodrama

Recommended by a friend. Loved the concept. Problem for me was it didn’t go to the places I hoped. Okay, maybe the author didn’t want to have Dino Battles all the time. But if you go the other direction, it is all about character development. The two male leads were fine, mildly interesting. The woman all struck me as sops, wooden, silly. The relationships and politics were meh and didn’t do anything for me. What I hoped for was the reality of the concept: How do you train dinosaurs? How do they get along with horses in the army? Do they bond with their riders? All the mechanics were glossed over or ignored. The most distracting thing is that the author makes it VERY clear that this is NOT EARTH. Then he uses Spanish words, ‘Spana as a country, etc. If you are building a world, BUILD ONE. Don’t rely on crutches from a world you very clearly said you were distancing yourself from. Then there are hints that there is a past… which smells a lot like earth. Messy. Maybe the answers are in the sequels. I am too pissed off to read them.

The next big Story

This is the first exciting book I've listened to in awhile. This isn't Tolkien by any means, but for creating his own world he does well enough. Plenty of time and a great intro to the series

BEGINNING OF TRILOGY

The story of man & dinosaur living together, and working together was very appealing to me. The reader of the book gave a very good performance which helped make the book a joy to listen to.

Was nice

I was told it was game of thrones with Dinosaurs it was indeed similar in that it was medieval but the story was less on par I wish the world building was a bit easier to do in the head as a reader listens to the book

I was super excited. I mean. knights, dinosaurs!? how can u mess that up!.
the book was a jumble, got repetitive, and I have to back track a few times to figure out what just happened. The dinosaurs are more like background props than anything which was kinda disapointing.
the narrator, I loved his accents for character voices, but for straight narration, he was dry, and kinda puts one to sleep.
Not sure if I want to spend the credit on the next boom or not.

Pretty good, prob needs another listen

It's a pretty intriguing plot and a lot of story lines. The narrator is great, but it really needs some additional voice actors for the roles as there's just too many characters in this book. So his women's voices and men's voices overlap w other characters. Should note that it does contain NSFW material and includes a rape scene. The writing of Victor Milan is full of great dialogue and descriptive character viewpoints. The "dinosaur" aspect is cool, but dinosaurs aren't really communicating or anything. I really think telepathic dinosaur connections would be cool. Anyways, it got me hooked on the series.
