Publisher's Summary

The Space Team Universe just got a whole lot darker.

In an alien city torn apart by crooked cops and ruthless criminals, private detective Dan Deadman specializes in cases unusual and bizarre.

Sure, he doesn't smell great, and he's technically been dead for quite some time, but if you've got a rampaging Hell-beast tearing up your street, or a portal to another dimension appearing in your bathroom, Dan's your man.

After saving a mysterious young woman named Ollie from the clutches of something big, slimy, and unpleasant, Dan gets entangled in a missing child case, a string of grisly murders, and a severed woman's arm that just won't leave him alone.

And then there's the demonic entity who'll stop at nothing to get its tentacles on Ollie, even if it means destroying the whole damn planet.

Times like these, Dan would give his right nut to be a real detective.

If he still had nuts.

From the world of Space Team: The Guns of Nana Joan, Dial D for Deadman is the first darkly comedic action adventure novel starring Dan Deadman, Space Detective.

Very enjoyable!!!

I really enjoyed this story. Laughed several times and enjoyed the banter between the characters. I will read more books in this series. Narrator also did a superb job.

Nottttt badddddd...

Would you listen to Dial D for Deadman: A Space Team Universe Novel again? Why?

I probably will, it might grow on me a little more.

What other book might you compare Dial D for Deadman: A Space Team Universe Novel to and why?

You have to compare it to Space Team, which unfortunately for Dan, is so epically fantastic that any comparison leaves any other books quivering like a green blob

Which character – as performed by Phil Thron – was your favorite?

Can't go past Dan himself

If you could take any character from Dial D for Deadman: A Space Team Universe Novel out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Hell no, I'd steer well clear of the lot of them.

Any additional comments?

It'd be a five star novel if I wasn't constantly comparing it to the quirkily fabulous Space Team. It just doesn't have the same degree of unpredictable lunacy that makes Space Team so brilliant. Oh and Phil Thron is unbelievably good, he should be an Audible Megastar.

Phil Thron

Voice of Artur is perfect. Best performance by Phil yet in Barry's books. Great start to the series.

great narration, entertaining and humorous

same writing as space team, tongue in cheek, intentional statements of obviousness. should be a good series. a dead guy and a leprechaun walk into a bar...

Great Addition to the Space Team Universe

After reading the Space team series I immediately reached for the Deadman series. It did not disappoint. The humor is a bit more deadpan and drier than Cal and the SpaceTeam series but excellent all the same.

The mystery and SciFi mixture is done quite well and blends well. If you like the colorful characters like those in the Space Team universe and a good ol' fashioned detective story give this one a go. May you enjoy it as much as I did.

Well THAT was pretty awesome

So..... I picked this up while i was waiting for the next space team book to hit audible, and i have to say, I think I might like this BETTER than space team. I mean its pretty close, but i think Deadman takes it. Same humor as space team, but definitely darker. More a dark, detective noire...... with a zombie, space mosters, and a transvestite leprechaun hahaha. If you are a fan of the Space Team universe then this is a must listen. Do yourself a favor and pick it up.

Great!!!

If you know the original series you will LOVE this series. Thron is great in these as well. I really wasnt that excited about this even though I really enjoy Space Team. Offshoots are usually a disappointment. NOT HERE. I think I like this series even more. Give it a shot.

Worth Listening

As a stand-alone book, and I assume and hope, series, the characters are awesome and I am really looking forward to the next in the series. The Irish dudes profanity had me actually smiling and laughing out loud, as the delivery of these lines by the narrator was flawless. The only downside for me, was that being a fan of the awesome Space Team series, the voice for Dan was the same as Mechs, but do not let that make you miss out on a great listening opportunity. 10 out of 5!
