The author based this poem on the “Twelve Day’s till Christmas,” which is located in The Christmas Almanack by Gerald and Patricia Del Re. When the author decided to write this poem, he wanted to incorporate his own twist using the Spanish numbers and Spanish words to help children be introduced to bilingual languages of both English and Spanish. This is a cute book for Christmas with a Spanish twist with the Spanish language for the "Decimosegundo Dias De Navidad." This Christmas poem was much fun to write.
