Join the Young siblings as they navigate life through the 4th year of the Revolutionary War with its adventures, joys, and trials. Experience the Battle of Monmouth and the long-awaited retreat of the British army.

"It’s 1778 and what a winter it’s been. General Howe has returned to England in shame and has been replaced by the experienced General Clinton. He’s spent the winter beside a warm hearth in our beloved capital city of Philadelphia, but help is on the way. The French have declared war on England and joined us in our fight for freedom; they’re due to arrive soon.

If we’re able to trap the redcoats before they can escape to the sea, we can end this war. The army is itching for a fight and for the first time since Boston, it’ll be the British who are in retreat. With the end in sight, folks are already starting to talk of life in our new world.

Captain Davis is hesitant to share my hopeful enthusiasms. In his pessimistic mind, the British will not be outwitted so easily, but that’s also what he’d said about Saratoga. Only time will tell which of us is right, I pray that it is I. Our army deserves victory, and I’ve found there’s no greater pleasure than proving Captain Davis wrong." (~Mercy Young)

My son and I love this series, we have been listening before bed every night lately. I like that he is getting insight into the period at which our country was founded in a fun story with great characters. it's a great glimpse into life 250 years ago. We can't wait for books 5-8 to come out on audible!!

Great historical fiction for youn and old.
