Publisher's Summary

Who is killing America? Is it really Donald Trump and a GOP filled with white supremacists? In a major new work of historical revisionism, Dinesh D’Souza makes the provocative case that Democrats are the ones killing America by turning it into a massive nanny state modeled on the Southern plantation system.

This sweeping alternative history of the Democratic Party goes back to its foundations in the antebellum South. The slaveholding elite devised the plantation as a means of organizing labor and political support. It was a mini-welfare state, a cradle-to-grave system that bred dependency and punished any urge to independence. This model impressed Northern Democrats, inspiring the political machines that traded government handouts for votes from ethnic immigrant blocs.

Today's Democrats have expanded to a multiracial plantation of ghettos for blacks, barrios for Latinos, and reservations for Native Americans. Whites are the only holdouts resisting full dependency, and so they are blamed for the bigotry and racial exploitation that is actually perpetrated by the left.

Death of a Nation's bracing alternative vision of American history explains the Democratic Party's dark past, reinterprets the roles of figures like Van Buren, FDR, and LBJ, and exposes the hidden truth that racism comes not from Trump or the conservative right but rather from Democrats and progressives on the left.

Very informative.

I found Death of a Nation very informative and highly researched. There was much information I did not know. Unlike other D'Souza books, I liked hearing the author's voice.

A great book, shining a light on a dark history.

I enjoyed the Fact Dinesh D'Souza took the time to read the book himself. He does a very good job of showing the similarities of President Abraham Lincoln, and President Donald Trump. As well as the similarites of Democratic stratergies to maintain the plantation in America up to this day.

The very sad truth of our Nation! 💔

As with all his books this is a very accurate account of all the dirty little secrets that have all but been written out of our history. one can only imagine how great our Nation would be if our supposed ruling class put as much effort into doing what is right for We The People as they do their own interests!

Brilliant mind!

Dinesh D’Souza is one of the most brilliant minds of our time. He backs up his arguments with facts, not emotions. He provides a history that all Americans should know and understand, lest it be lost to the annals of history. As an immigrant himself, he gets this. It’s also great to listen to a book read by the author!

Dinesh is Amazing

I am so impressed at the way Dinesh has put all of this information together and explained where the real racism in America resides.

Excellent... Everything you expect from D'Souza

The movie never played near us when it was in theaters and we really wanted to see it so I decided to read the book before viewing the film now that it's on Netflix. We've read other books and seen other films by D'Souza but we're particularly interested in this one with the polarization of the two parties in the 2016 election. The history of the two parties and the plantation politics of the Democratic Party is a fascinating topic. The deniability of progressive liberals has always been puzzling. As a conservative in the South and having been called racist my entire life by non-southerners, I particularly appreciate this big picture perspective. Thank you, Dinesh, and please keep speaking your truth because it is America's truth and you have an audience who needs to hear it, wanted or not.

Five Stars

Dinesh D’Souza shines the light on progressive lies and exposes the hypocrisy of the left with facts. The Democrat Party is the party of the slave plantation, white supremacy (Richard Spencer), Fascism (Antifa), and racism. Will President Trump unite this country as Lincoln once did? ‘Death of a Nation’ gives us hope.

No more hyphens

D’Souza has a way of communicating politics that this country boy understands.....”he puts the hay down where the goats can get it”.
His story is proof that the American dream is alive and well.
My pet peeve is the use of hyphens in identity politics....what about just plain old American!
The history lesson in this book needs to be taught early and often in our schools.

Important read

All Americans whether politically minded or not needs to read this book. Too much important content here to comment on but the continued theme of the Democrat party being the party of lies, deception, racism, socialism, greed etc ... is damning. Some Republicans have and continue to be a part of this too. Great work again by Dinesh. Well done. What an American treasure you are. When are you coming to visit Australia? :)

Excellent book! Must read book if you want to learn about racism in the USA

As a Portuguese born Australian, I wanted to learn more about the cause of racism in America from an outsider (migrant) view point.
Dinesh D’Souza did just that, he left no stone unturned by tracing American history, with accounts of what really happened from primary sources.

You won’t regret reading this book. From start to finish, this book takes you on a journey from pre-revolution to the latest headlines, while exposing the truth of the new and old “plantation” owners.

Thank you Mr D’Souza for separating facts from propaganda and exposing the truth underlying Americans two party system.
